The mayor of Minneapolis went to a riot and said all the right stuff. "Systemic this, structural that"...he recited the tired lines word for word.

Then the mob asked if he would defund the police, he said that he would not, they chased him off. You can never go far enough left to sate these people, now everyone hates the guy on the right and left. The hope of the democrats putting a moderate forward dwindles every time.

Good for the mob. You know their tactics are strong. Never give an inch, never apologize, counterattack constantly, etc

Idk if the Trump doctrine is gonna work in this particular instance. Probably threw out the furthest left guy that had a realistic chance of winning.

Like saying Trump threw out the furthest right guy in the party in Lindsey Graham or Ted Cruz

Well Trump is anti-ideology, that's kind of the last bit of appeal he has left. He really doesn't have any consistent policy position on literally anything. His presidency has revolved around him desperately trying to get people to respect him (to no avail). A lot of the ideologues in his administration couldn't take it and left years ago.

These leftists obviously aren't like that. The democrats aren't like that. The democrats tend to have these beliefs that they obsess over and grill each other over in these brutal contests of ideological purity, whereas the republicans literally only care about winning.

That may explain why "Attack, counter-attack, never apologize" just doesn't work on the left. They aren't as soley fixated on the goal of winning, the elections are just a means to an end.

For De La Cruz, a local businessman, the moment was about accountability.

“If I can hold my brothers accountable, if I can march with my brothers and turn against them to say, 'This isn’t right,' that’s where the accountability comes in,” he said.

“In the end, that’s all that we are asking for," said De La Cruz, whose uncle is a police officer. "What we need is for those great cops to hold their brothers and sisters accountable at all times.”

If we are going to head down the "lets have (insert community here) hold itself accountable" avenue, . . . just remember there's more than one side to that coin.

The left is just a Multi-Headed Hillary.

They have bumbled and lied so much that no amount of Blue State Bellyaching is going to mean squat in November.

People don't like voting for sneaky people.

Call Trump whatever you want, but he always lays a shitload of cards on the table, if not them all. Also, when you look at it objectively, has there ever been a World Leader with more experience than he has? Running huge businesses, making deals, dealing with pandemics, partisan attacks, coup attempts, phony impeachment proceedings and the Russian baloney, riots, . . . he has now been through it all. He has weathered an incredible Gauntlet and come out the other end.

So, you mean to tell me that we'd be better off with somebody who is NOT experienced directly handling those matters?

Fat chance. Its another denial of the proper answer due to hurt feelings and tribalism.

Always a wonder (though not surprising) as to why these sort of stats are never mentioned.
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/06/busi ... erica.html

Quote:
At many of America’s major employers, black men and women are absent from meaningful leadership roles.

The nation’s largest health care company, CVS, has no black people on its senior leadership team.

In finance, there are no black people on the senior leadership teams of Bank of America, JPMorgan (where managers in Phoenix branches were recorded making racist remarks) or Wells Fargo (which recently faced a federal lawsuit for discriminating against minority home buyers).

In technology, there are zero black members of the senior leadership teams of Facebook, Google, Microsoft and Amazon.

In total, there are just four black chief executives among the 500 largest companies in the country.

I think we found a gig for you.

You could be a headhunter to help find candidates to break those trends.

There's got to be a pretty nice commission tied to those opportunities.

You owe me but a ten percent finder's fee. 8)

I find it very hard to believe that in the hyper-competitive business landscape of S&P 500 companies that firms will turn down qualified companies for reasons like racism. Just doesn't make sense. It would result in a massive advantage to other firms that hired whoever the best candidate is regardless of race.

But if you're truly cross about it LTG, there is nothing stopping a black run company from going public and raising funds. Nothing at all.

And I dont wanna hear about Tulsa, because I know that's where you'll go next. Hamburg and Tokyo got it a lot worse than Tulsa did (and more recently) and they have plenty of business success. Be the change you want to see in the world.

By the way the highest paid CEO in America is Lisa Sue, who is an Asian woman.

The numbers are what they are and your dismissal of them is just another in a long list of excuses that you continuously make to excuse what this happens to be.

Less than 1% of the top 500 countries have blacks serving as Chief Executives. You will never look at those figures as being "disproportionate" however.

Therein lies the problem. Whenever its stereotypical and generalization time you always seem to be right there for ya but whenever there is an inverse to that sort of talk the deflections, obfuscations, denials, and excuses start rolling.

Do you know that during slavery there were blacks that had large slave plantations? Does that negate the fact that was racism simply because blacks were allowed to own slaves?

Was Donald Sterling not racist because he paid Chris Paul and Blake Griffin max contracts? Hired and kept Elgin Baylor on for 20 years as GM?

When did they pass a rule saying that black people can't start their own company if they don't like how another company is running its business, or if they think that they are getting fucked? You either go through the obstacle or go around it if you truly have a goal in mind.

Think about if some assholes are having a party, but they don't invite you. Do you really want to barge your way into the party and hang out with those motherfuckers? No. Fuck those motherfuckers. Make your own party.

You want to talk "racism"? It sure looks like one race is actively trying to hurt the other (and anyone not aligned with them - wait, even people aligned with them) because a few members of the other race did some stupid shit. Don't black people do stupid shit sometimes , too? Hmmm, but we are not supposed to hold any of that shit against them in the long-term.

It doesn't work that way after you start resorting to violence and savagery. You lose your civility pass for being an idiot. Shit is to the point where people are acting in a very primitive manner, and not using reason, and when they do, they are being found out left and right being up to some dastardly shit.

I'm certainly not gong to waste time pretending that I think they are doing the right thing when it is clear to anyone who is not scared of being publicly-shamed by the CNN Brigade that the destructive element of this "made-for-tv-movement" has gone way too far.

Derica Rice left for Disney back in February. When he was with CVS, he was an EVP at CVS Health and President of CVS Caremark.

EDIT: He started with Disney in 2019 and kept his CVS positions until February.

Their being "silly" and "destructive" isn't the primary reason that MANY feel this way though.

I don't agree with the riots nor am I a big fan of BLM either. I have said that on here a few times. I wish that they would place their emphasis elsewhere but that's just me.

None of this excuses what happens to be going on economically however. None of it.

Ha!

I love how one side now has to be "sensitive", while the other side hits it in the head with a hammer.

Makes sense. What a scam this whole thing all is.

I mean that is a pretty stupid graphic to use.

None of it.

When did I say they were "silly"?

I wish to goodness that they would be acting "silly", as that would be a tremendous upgrade.

What is going on economically? The old saying goes that the easiest way to a buck is to find the Train of Progress, set up shop far ahead up on the tracks, and just stay put until they pay you to leave. Same thing here. Savvy investors' mouths water when they can get their hands on some "crisis bucks".

What type of person/company thinks to look up that data? What type of news organization puts that on tv?

If it is true, isn't it "science" then?

Or do we only want to see roses-and-rainbows bullshit happytalk numbers?

Also, just because you uncover a trend doesn't make you an evil and complicit messenger.
