The board has always discussed politics. The point of the Politics section wasn't to eliminate that. The problem has become that what constitutes "politics" has been largely reduced down to "Trump sucks/No he doesn't". That's simply tiresome and no one wants it to dominate the board. Not even those of us who traffic in it.
