But look at how hard people were trying in this thread to excuse Brooks' actions. You had people honestly saying that after taking a taser from an officer and assaulting them with it, the police should have just let the guy go.

He manhandled those two cops. See him just take that taser out of his hand like it was candy from a baby?
That guy should quit in embarrassment.

That could happen to any of us though. There's always going to be someone more powerful than us.

People know that if they want to be left alone by the mob, they have to be One Of The Good Ones, and right now that means every use of force is unjustifiable.

Because of your inability to see ANYTHING beyond your tiny world view, you believe that someone "excused" the actions of Brooks. Literally no one did that. It's possible to think that Brooks was wrong AND that he shouldn't have been shot in the back. It's also possible to think the cop who shot him was wrong, BUT he shouldn't be charged with a crime.

I apologize for Nas. Sometimes he forgets it's 2020. His obsolete and archaic statement may have been reasonable 10 years ago, but there is no place for that today.

 The officer was fired. He clearly didn’t handle the situation appropriately

Really? What should he have done when Brooks took a taser from an officer and assaulted them with it multiple times?

Saying Brooks shouldnt have been killed is NOT excusing his actions.

I don’t know. I’m not a cop. But the cops clearly thought his actions warranted firing so I’m not sure what you’re still trying to justify.

Just for fun, here is a list of police killings in the UK for the past 20 years or so.

Sure seems like a police problem we have in the states where they kill people.

Now, I'm not saying this just to pick on MADD. There is over policing in many areas.

Cops roll up on this guy sleeping it off. Decide to leave him be . He wakes up 2 hours later , tries to drive home still legally drunk , T-bones a couple coming back from a date night , killing them both leaving 3 kids behind . What’s the narrative then?

You know if you're gonna hate cops so much you should at least understand the basic principles of their departmental power structure. Namely that rank-and-file cops aren't in charge of who gets fired and who doesn't from the department.

Better kill him straight away, just to be safe.

Cops fired the cop. If you’re disagreeing with that being a factual statement then it’s you who doesn’t understand who’s in charge of firing cops, not me.

Drinking so much that you pass out but then instantly acquiring superhuman strength is appropriation of white culture.

Leave him be? We have tents, syringes and shit laying around cities. We leave them be. You know why? They don't have money. DUI is a revenue generator. Calling this guy an uber and towing his car to his house isn't revenue generating.

DUI is a scam. Otherwise texting and driving etc would get the same life altering sentences and fines.

"I'm not excusing his actions, I just think the cops should have let him go after he took a weapon from them and assaulted them with it" is logic that could only come from people who have already made up in their minds that there are no acceptable circumstances for police to use deadly force with certain suspects.
