The Magic have also inquired repeatedly about Jarvaris Crittenton, according to both his agent and the Grizzlies.

Azubuike signed an offer sheet with the Clippers

Seems like a nice pickup for the Clippers if their SG options are Cat Mobley and Gordon. At the very least a spark off the bench. Meanwhile probably was going to struggle to find playing time in Oakland

What happened to Akubuike last season? I thought he was supposed to basically replace Richardson and he got off to a hot start and didnt seem to do much as the season progressed.

Yeah, he does indeed have the oddest rotations and it doesn't seem to take much to get in his doghouse. Last year Brandan Wright had a few games in a row w/ 20+ min. and looked promising then all of a sudden he disappeared.

Wow. Apparently Josh Childress is strongly considering a 3yr/20mil offer to play in Greece.

Sounds like leverage to get more than the MLE.

Keyon Dooling was S&T from the Magic to the Nets for cash and the trade exception the Nets got in the Kidd deal. I have no idea what the trade exception is.

It allows you to trade for whatever amount the trade exception is for regardless of your cap situation

The New Jersey Nets have traded point guard Marcus Williams to the Golden State Warriors for a future first-round draft pick, sources told ESPN.com on Tuesday.

The news was first reported by the New York Post.

Williams backed up Devin Harris last season, but Williams' role grew more uncertain by the acquisition Monday of Keyon Dooling from the Orlando Magic via a sign-and-trade deal.

The Post reported that the pick the Warriors are sending New Jersey is lottery-protected for 2011, meaning the Nets will obtain it if the Warriors reach the playoffs.

Today's second hand news

Telfair re-signing with the Wolves
Pistons will sign Will Bynum
Celtics going after Devean George
Suns signing Will Barnes
Celts re-signed Eddie House and Tony Allen
Spurs resigned Kurt Thomas
Signs are pointing to more likely that Emeka Okafor will be leaving the Bobcats. The Bobcats offered a 60M extension before the season and Okafor turned it down. The Bobcats are telling him they gave him the best offer and not moving up from it.
Bostjon Nachbar is headed to Russia. 3 years/14M

I think that's a bad move by Okafor. I don't get it. he's not that great. I would have taken that extension

An Emeka Okafor is one of the most insignificant #1 picks and Rookie of the Year winners in the history of the league.

Ben Gordon probably still thinks he made the right move...

Why wouldn't he? He can sign a 1 year deal this off-season, and then bank on another team giving him $10 million+ as a free agent. Teams haven't been exactly frugal when they have money to spend, and if he does average around 20 points a game next season, he could get more than what the Bulls offered. It would all depend on who's got cap room, and, obviously, what their needs are.

bottom line, I don't think he'll get what he wants...he's obviously best as a sixth man, despite his desire to start...

It's official. Childress signed with the Greek team. Leave it to the Hawks to drive a player to leave the NBA and go to the Euroleague. Apparently he signed the largest deal ever given in Europe.

FF, I have a feeling we may end up disagreeing, but I don't really like Josh's game...I think the Hawks made the right decision, he's a glorified defensive stopper...

If a player like Beno Udrih, who I like for what he is, can get the full MLE, Childress should too. And I dont know how glorified he is. He's a good 6th man.

Didn't Udrih get $10 million a season?

News you can use

Warriors signed Maurice Evans 3/6.3 M and will not match the offer for Kelenna Azubuike (3/9M by the Clippers)

Josh Childress' new deal in Greece gives him the ability to opt out after each season of the deal but the deal is set for 3 years/32.5M, the largest in Euro history. The Hawks can only match NBA offers and will receive no compensation.

The Warriors deal for Marcus Williams has these conditions: The pick is lottery protected for 2011, so the Nets get it if the Warriors are in the playoffs. If it goes to 2012, the pick is protected 1-11. It's protected 1-10 for 2013. If it is not conveyed by 2013, the Nets get second-round picks in 2013 and 2015.

The Pistons are quietly shopping Billups who has 3/36 left on his deal. The rumors are they have talked to the Nuggets about Melo and the Warriors about Biedrins.

Nice to see Monta sign. I'm happy with that. It's a lot of cash but I think he's going to be worth it. Also matched the offer sheet for Azubuike.

Is it just me or do the Warriors seems like the only team active in free agency?
Seems like they're in the news practically every day for something....

Ellis got 6 years, 67 million - does that in any way help move things along for Gordon/Deng? I would think Deng would get a simlar $/year deal, and Gordon just below that.
