One of the few things you’ve said that I agree with . I think the DA is going to get pantsed in this case and Atlanta will look like it did in Gone With the Wind after Sherman..... oh wait , nvm.

I can’t see a conviction in this case. I just want an examination of when to use deadly force and much more emphasis on deescalation. Based on what I have seen, I would not convict for what was charged.

No, they shouldn't have. Real life isn't a movie, you don't count the shots of the bad guys. You try to not get hit by whatever they're shooting at you.

This is rocket science and it isn't Dirty Harry... It's counting to 2.

Even simpler, it's counting to 1 twice.
It is completely unreasonable to expect an officer to be able to count the number of a times a taser not under his control was fired during a violent scrum which later included him getting shot at. I'd be happy to wail on your face while you try to keep an eye and ear out for BRogue firing a shot from his taser, then have you try to decide whether he's empty after he fires it at your face from 5 feet away.

Fuck off Zimmerman

Because the supposed kick is obstructed in the wide angle by a vehicle, most likely.

There is bodycam footage that shows a windup that looks like it would have been good from 43.

Go ahead and post it then and get a discussion going, if that's what you want. I can't find body camera footage showing the kick as you claim.

Kicking a dying man is bad. That's all I got.

Yeah, that wasn't body camera footage, that was the wide shot of the scene from the security camera at Wendy's, and as I said there is no kick shown, as the officer's lower body is obstructed from the camera's view by a vehicle. I don't know what the officer did because I can't see it. I agree generally with your stated premise, though, and I hope Brooks wasn't kicked as hey lay dying.

Excerpts from the WSJ June 2, 2020;

In 2018, the latest year for which such data have been published, African-Americans made up 53% of known homicide offenders in the U.S. and commit about 60% of robberies, though they are 13% of the population.

375 million annual contacts that police officers have with civilians.

In 2019 police officers fatally shot 1,004 people, most of whom were armed or otherwise. African-Americans were about a quarter of those killed by cops last year (235), a ratio that has remained stable since 2015. That share of black victims is less than what the black crime rate would predict, since police shootings are a function of how often officers encounter armed and violent suspects
.
The police fatally shot nine unarmed blacks and 19 unarmed whites in 2019, according to a Washington Post database, down from 38 and 32, respectively, in 2015.

Assuming a comparable number of victims last year, those nine unarmed black victims of police shootings represent 0.1% of all African-Americans killed in 2019.

By contrast, a police officer is 18½ times more likely to be killed by a black male than an unarmed black male is to be killed by a police officer.

Police shootings are not the reason that blacks die of homicide at eight times the rate of whites and Hispanics combined; criminal violence is.

This will go down as the greatest post in the history of this message board.

Now that we can’t get the cop on the ol’ “ A TASER ISNT A DEADLY WEAPON “ bullshit , may as well focus on the kick.

I was joking. I should understand it isn't always clear especially in this climate.

Is there a difference?

The All Lives Matter people tend not to have those ghastly black and white American flags, which look like either goofy Raider Nation paraphernalia or something legitimately fascist.

Every time I see that shitty flag, I want someone to do a Rick Monday snatch-and-run on it, but then later actually do set it on fire.

Hence, felony murder.

Andrew McCarthy wrote:
Howard got his in-house investigator to sign off on arrest affidavits. They charge Rolfe with felony murder, in addition to several other charges. In Georgia, felony murder is a death-penalty offense. The homicide theory of felony murder is that, while the offender does not specifically intend to cause death, he does intentionally commit a felony from which death results. In this instance, Howard alleges that the underlying felony was aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Are you saying that the deadly weapon was the officer's foot, or that you don't know anything about the charges?

Amazon workers in Chicago angered by ‘tokenized’ Juneteenth celebration offering chicken and waffles

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/06/19/chicago ... ation.html

Workers at an Amazon warehouse in Chicago have voiced outrage at the company after the facility offered employees “an authentic meal” of chicken and waffles in celebration of Juneteenth.
The facility, known as DCH1, notified employees on Thursday that it’s “honoring the Black community by supporting local Black businesses” and would offer employees chicken and waffles on Juneteenth, according to a document obtained by CNBC. The document appears to have been placed on a TV in the facility’s break room.

Juneteenth commemorates the day in 1865 that Texas slaves received news of their freedom, two years after the passage of the Emancipation Proclamation.

At some point this movement will slowly fade out. Always does. I do not want that but whatever is top of mind is what is going to get the interest.

I hope some of the reforms take hold especially some of the hold tactics, demilitarizing our police and more than anything making it harder for warrants and never no-knocks.

For now though all of this here is mental masturbation.
