Teachers get praised sufficiently. I even gave an example of extraordinary praise few others get. Nas dismissed it out of hand. I'll give another example: in my neighborhood, every other block has a sign on it saying "a hero lives here" and the school at which the person teaches. They also have a pretty decent pay schedule. 79K median pay in CPS with other school districts much higher. Still, median CPS as an example: it would not be difficult to make enough to bring that into the 90s by working during the summer, and there is ample summer work for teachers including tutoring, working camps, different summer schooling like driver's ed. I don't expect a teacher to be poor and the truth is that they are not.

You are intentionally misrepresenting everything that I posted. I've NEVER said teachers shouldn't be criticized. In fact, I've said the opposite. I simply compared the view of teachers on this board and with the public with the view of cops and even firemen. I noted that there was a stark difference. I don't think that can be disputed.

As I've said, Florida is weird dumb, but Arizona is mean dumb.

Yeah, it can be disputed. You have an antiquated view of things. A lot of people are coming around to the fact that most cops are psychotic assholes. Most people still like teachers even if they patriot about them going on strike or having summer vacation or whatever.

There's a lot of both sides defending both occupations if you stray from the extremist bubble/rhetoric. Which goes back to my main point - you're either dishonest or uninformed if you think cops have a better public reputation than teachers do currently. I'd recommend coming out from under the rock and engaging with the public if you still think that.
