It depends on the situation. If he is high risk in some way then his service time wouldnt be affected, but I dont think anyone knows that right now

I don't know if he sits if he wasn't going to qualify for the year of service time. I think he would be the first player in MLB to sit if he wasn't getting the year. Will find out at some point.
