i have no idea. its like $260 if caught violating the mandate outside of the city. i would imagine it's a measure of profit they figured they could get to offset the lack of parking violations, speeding tickets and other revenue they have lost since they started this mess.

it also says an officer will be called to issue the fine, and it didn't say anything about being arrested. so i would imagine there will be few actually paid, because there will be a lot of cops who simply wont show up for the call... and even if you get the fine i have a feeling there will be a class action lawsuit against all of the fines when this is all over with.

i got kicked out of target today. soon as i walked through the door a lady employee freaked out on me and shrieked WE ARE REQUIRING MASKS NOW!!!! everyone around looked shocked. i said 'oh ok have a nice day' and left.

so it begins i guess. i drove 10min to the next county and they didnt mind my business. i just hope they dont get pressure from dane to pull the same bullshit.

I like Madison. Ice fishing in February on that lake. Kiki's House of Righteous Music out on 151 or 51, one of those streets. Gumby's Pizza used to be there, other side of downtown. Drunk walkable bars. Crappy town for drunk driving tho. You have to drive through the downtown choke-point to get anywhere. Cops seemed chill tho

outside of madison is awful for drunk driving. in the city though you have to do something stupid for them to pull you over. plus uber/lyft is abundant and safe so there isnt a reason to drive anyway. overall the madison cops are great they actually practice de escalation and try to leave people alone.

i also drove by walmart and they had the whole front of the building chainlink gated off with pandemic signs everywhere. it looked like a dystopian nightmare. im lucky the county line is 10min away but like i said i wont be surprised if neighboring counties are pressured to follow suit at this point. ill just do all my business though amazon i guess. i don't want brick stores to vanish but its looking inevitable.
