MANY people I know who live in the city said cops don't pull you over for traffic violations. They said they only care about guns and drugs. Traffic violations are a suburb thing. They laugh when I asked them if they had been pulled over for a broken tail light or speeding.

I would say over the past decade that this is true unless you have a shitty car. That is progress. They'll still leave 99 tickets on your car overnight for the same parking violation though.

Arguments Nas has made about over-policing:

"Communities are over-policed!"

"Cops sit in their car too much and don't catch criminals!"

"Cops don't engage in shootouts with criminals!"

"One form of over-policing in these communities is issuing tickets for traffic violations."

"Over the last 10 years cops don't really issue tickets for traffic violations."

Just pointing out how your critiques of "over-policing" don't really match up with what you later admit/claim is reality.

People drive the wrong way down the expressway in Chicago because they're so inebriated. People blow reds (as long as there's no camera) routinely. The speed limit is a joke.

To pretend traffic enforcement in Chicago even exists is preposterous. And its not a white/black thing either. The left lane of the Dan Ryan goes a steady eighty five and if you're less than that you're impeding the flow.

its gotten awful in madison too. cops clearly arent monitoring traffic anymore. if you drive anytime after work hours its like frogger, every other car is all over the road and even stopping for no reason and doing u turns and shit. its so fucked up. shit is getting so fucking bad.

I guess Littletwat is hoping for better shooting accuracy from her population. The Chicago kill ratio should be much better. Maybe she'll give the gang bangers better and more accurate weapons?

Cops release footage that showed "unarmed" Hakim Littleton produce a pistol from his pants pocket and fire it point-blank at an officer's head as he turned to run.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_cont ... =emb_title

Shakes was this guy just flailing his gun around instead of trying to point it at an officer's head?

Glad I live in the US.

The kid's not "a racist pos." He's a stupid kid who probably needs some intervention of some kind, the least being that his words have effects on other people. He probably also needs to learn that using words to demean others based on physical characteristics or their talents or whatever is something he should be leaving behind. No cops should be involved.

The authorities said that there is "literally" no excuse, but there are a lot of explanations. One one: He's twelve.

If you don't see the difference between that video and the one of Rayshard Brooks then I don't know what to tell you.

Littleton was trying to run away, why didn't the cops just disengage?

Of course there are differences, no two events are exactly the same.

Of course there are differences, no two events are exactly the same.

Then why did you compare the two with no context as to why you were?

Because they share certain similarities like the suspect firing at officers as he runs away, pointing his weapon at officers as he flees, getting shot in the back as he flees pointing his weapon at officers, and assaulting officers with his weapon before the officers returned fire. I linked the video to provide that context that you claim was lacking.

Do you think this shooting was justified?

Yes. I also saw the guy turn and point his gun and fire it right at the cops head. He was also about 5' away and standing his ground (not running away) when he did it. The cops responded by firing immediately. Not to mention it was a gun, not some bullshit taser.
