Everyone knows that's bullshit based on nothing but faith.

Perhaps that statement is even false.

But we spread germs every time we breathe.

And if we wear a mask, we can reduce the amount of germs we expel.

I'm trying, and have been trying for at least a month to understand your #RESISTANCE to wearing a mask.

Trump was opposed to the wearing of it. Nothing more and nothing less.

The National Retail Federation (NRF) is encouraging all retailers to adopt a nationwide policy that requires customers to wear face coverings.

In a statement on Wednesday, the group applauded companies that have already mandated a nationwide mask policy, including Walmart, Starbucks, Best Buy, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Apple, Qurate Retail Group and Costco.

“Shopping in a store is a privilege, not a right. If a customer refuses to adhere to store policies, they are putting employees and other customers at undue risk,” NRF said in a statement.

When South Korea's numbers "spiked" in February they attributed it in part to a shortage of masks.
Quote:

SEOUL, South Korea -- The South Korean government has implemented draconian measures to secure and distribute face masks to the public amid the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

Manufacturers of face masks must immediately cut down mask exports to less than 10% of their total production, and more than half of production must be supplied to government designated sellers, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced Thursday.

Domestic demand for masks in South Korea has shot up drastically as the number of confirmed patients with COVID-19 -- the official name of this virus -- spiked from 104 to 1,766 cases in just a week. Health authorities are now advising everyone to wear masks in the presence of others and to change into a new mask every day.

Yeah I agree. I don't think we're coming back from the no mask thing. I'm sure they will stop being mandatory at some point but our collective psyche has been altered, and I think there will be a perception that remains even after a vaccine that if you arent wearing a mask in public you're a selfish asshole.

Too many fucking idiots have overcompensated for the no maskers by embracing the mask to such a degree that they think it's cute and great and not terrible at all to have everyone walking around in a masked society.

No numnuts, it has worked in other countries to slow the transmission down. Despite what the great Joe Orr says it has worked in other countries. It will help stop complete shutdowns. When we have a therapeutic drug that treats the virus or a vaccine, we can go back to normal.

My post said nothing about the effectiveness of masks, fucking idiot.

This is why I said you should stop discussing this topic. It's clear you're unable to think critically about anything and you just regurgitate bullshit you heard smarter men say without understanding any of it.

Masks protect others, so what you should accurately say is...

My body, my choice, fuck everyone else including my family and friends because I am too selfish to wear a mask to protect others and slow down the virus which will help the economy as well”

That's not true. I would estimate at least 40% of people I see in Naperville are walking/driving/biking around in masks right now. I think you're way off base if you're under the impression people are only doing this inside and in crowds.

In my neck of the nape it seems to be about 95% indoors.

South siders are tougher.

I live right near a bike path tons of people ride and walk on, have yet to see a mask.

I don't think its as high as 40%, but I too have seen a number of people alone in their cars and outside not near a soul and they are wearing a mask.

I took my son to a nature preserve this morning and while we were walking around, I would guess nearly 1/3 of the people either were wearing a mask or pulled their mask up over their face as we walked by, at well more than 6' away.

That's a fair point. I can't speak to anything outside of Naperville as I rarely have gone anywhere else the last few months, and this is a pretty uptight town. But I'm out a lot in the evenings and it stuns me the amount of people I see biking and walking around the neighborhood in masks

I believe Lake Katherine is in one of the Paloses.

I do have to laugh when I see somebody biking or driving alone with a mask on. A few weeks ago I saw some guy cutting his lawn with a mask on. Nobody else was within 50' of him.

There are other ways to halt the effects besides a healthy immune system. Wearing a mask is one of them.

Naperville is town of snitches and goodie two shoes. Don't see many masks for people outside exercising in the north side of the city or northwest 'burbs.

Indoors on the other hand both areas are really good with wearing one.

i live way out in the far west in an area that hasn't been too affected, and my mask observations are that probably 75%-80% of people in stores wear them, unless it is a liquor store in which case it is about 10% masked. Outdoors you see a few - i even see some people on the bike path walking, running and cycling in them (though not many anymore). I wear one when i go to the store even if i have some contrary beliefs on how this has been handled. We have friends that come over and we go over to their places where none of us wear masks and we are perfectly fine with that.
