I have found the colder the store the more comfortable the mask is. I don’t wear a mask much but I’ve been socially distancing since 1975 and went pro when I moved to the farm.

I'm sure Jet has a line on some and will sell them to you for $39.99ea

Seen it

I dont know what to make of all this. Im at a point where Im willing to do this because I think it might help. It doesn't bother me that much to wear it for a few minutes here and there.

If I go back to the office and have to wear one all day, Ill start arguing against it for sure because I really only care about me, tbh.

I ran into the store this morning and with my glasses on, they were constantly fogged up. I fucking hate em.

Cross the straps on the side and the air will come out of the side instead of up. Works very well with the glasses thing.

I think there's a decent chance a mask actually increases the odds of catching the virus from contaminated surfaces. The mask I'm wearing is thrown around fairly casually, placed on desks/tables, and touched/handled after I've touched other things. It's probably a petri dish. And then I put it up to my face and breathe through it for minutes at a time. If the virus is most likely to be transmitted by prolonged exposure, putting it on a mask would seem to be the virus's dream.

If it does help, its not for you, its for other people but fair point.

If U.S. numbers were trending down, that number would go way down for us as well.

There's clearly no correlation between mask usage and cases/deaths.

Could it be possible that there is nothing that can done other than creating a vaccine faster than any vaccine has ever been created for a virus from a family for which there has never been a vaccine or simply waiting for it to burn out like SARS and MERS?

People don't like feeling helpless. So we lock down and wear masks with no regard to what it is doing to us as people and the destruction being wrought upon our society.

There's been evidence on both sides of this debate. When its the side you have chosen you use words like clearly, when its the other side you say its political.

So Ill just say that graph is political and should be dismissed.

And yes, the timing of the question is very important to the context. And as KD points out, the second one is population density. Its not real surprising that Wyoming which has a population of 11 people doesn't have a lot of mask use or cases.

Definitely possible

I agree on the first part. Destruction of society is pretty strong, imo.

I have a feeling it will burn itself out before any vaccine. But the work they are doing will hopefully pay off for future viruses.

Go back on you bicycle and clear your muddled brain. You never explain how masks bring destruction on society either.

The map just happens to be in the tweet. Look at the chart above re: mask usage. There obviously is no correlation between mask usage and "controlling the virus".

You have to make the argument that the places that did not have widespread cases would have had even less had they been in use. And that would be a claim not backed by any evidence, i.e. claptrap.

A map isn't a statistical analysis. There are MANY variables that need to considered and controlled for to statistically make a conclusion.

The question was also "Do you wear a mask when leaving the house?"

I do not. I assume most people are only doing it if they are in public places with other people.

It also depends on the public place I am going to. A park or a golf course, no mask. Binny's or another store? Mask goes on two seconds before I walk in the door.

I'm not referencing a map at all.

Chart, map, graph, etc.

The methodology for the survey makes a ton of assumptions. Though, it's an interesting start for a more in-depth and rigorous analysis.

Cmon Frank you are forgetting the narrative, either I am too scared to leave my house or I wouldn’t go out with someone that wouldn’t wear a mask. And you forget that I am also gay because I am so scared and want people to wear masks. Plus you and a couple others want to weld my door shut and then burn my house down and roast me alive. Geez, get your insults correct.

i agree with all of that, but ill have to take your word for it on the "gay" part. I dont think any of those are insults. I feel bad for people who are so afraid of getting sick even though they are wearing masks and social distancing and being careful. To a lot of people, taking care of yourself just doesn't cut it anymore.
