That was real race riding by Irad. In the last turn he was riding his own horse and Castellano's at the same time. He forced Javier wide and then took the short route. He needed every foot he could get.

Both of those jockeys were beating their horses hard with the whips down the stretch. It was Irad's last crack at Country Grammer that jolted him to surge forward just before the wire. You're right about Irad taking the shorter route. Good timing by him to cut the corner.

I think PETA is going to be after both of these jockeys from now on. I'm surprised one of the horses didn't drop dead from the amount of whipping they withstood. It was too heavy handed for those animals.

FRIDAY 0717 Maybe today JORR will share his thoughts BEFORE the race

Race 2-Soft group of maidens go 7 furlongs...the 1-Dawns Early Light should get hammered at the window, so I like the 3 horses outside in no particular order...the 10-Brunate, the 11-Imperio D and the 12-Breed's Hill (Jose Ortiz aboard) all should provide nice WPS value

 I'm interested in Guacamole in the 8th. I think it will be hard to beat Scuttlebuzz in the 5th but he may not be betable with all those scratches.

Late Pick 4

Race 7 Chad Brown entered 4 horses for fuck’s sake…think he’ll win?...actually the 4-Clara Peters could fire late if the pace heats up…the 1-Catch A Bid (Brown) is a horse I’ve been following since her auction…might be overbet, but she won a stakes race on this 1 mile course last summer, and will sit off the front end and press …can do

Race 8-Turf sprint (including JORR’s 1)…think the 3-Lady Lawyer is the class here cutting back but will get challenged by the 2-Olendon (Brown/Irad) and the 4-Lost Ticket

Race 9-The Brown 5-Indian Pride will get a lot of attention and the 9-Blamed is going to go head to head with her on the front end….both are classy and both make the ticket but I think you gotta look off the pace as well and I also added the bomb of 7-Honor Way whose trainer and speed numbers fit like a glove, as well as the 1-Please Flatter me for pedigree trainer numbers that fit as well.

Race 10- lightly raced maidens off the turf…good luck…need to filter through these 3, 8, 9, 14 and 15 to get a usable/affordable ticket

Late P4 Ticket

Race7-4,1,3
Race8-3,4,1,2
Race9-5,9,7
Race 10-8,14,15

.50 $54

I'll take a crack at the late PK-4 today.

R11- I think there's a good chance for a longshot in here. The two Maker horses are interesting. Also using Corelli and I have to use Current.

R12- Dr. Post is a single

R13- 2, 4, 9, 13

R14- 1, 2, 5. I'll have extra tickets without the 1.

At the Spa, I'm interested in a few that should be good prices. Matty's Marauder in the fifth. The Sicarii in the seventh. And in the CCA Oaks, I really like Altaf. She is a very serious animal. Probably the best dirt filly in this generation.

Eddie Olczyk said in his Haskell Preview segment that he likes Art Collector over Tiz the Law in the Kentucky Derby.

Much more focused on the Spa today, but race 11 at Monmouth The United Nations hasn't had a favorite win in 17 years...I like the 5-Aquaphobia for Maker...and while the Haskell is a two horse race probably I love the idea of NY Traffic upsetting everyone

Let me start with the 7th sorry JORR backclass and speed...your pony off a layoff I don't think has a snowball chance in hell ( been wrong before)
10th Paris Lights ready for a big one

The #1 Sidereal and the #8 Here Comes Jackie are both showing value in the 5th at Monmouth.

Going both EX. box with Zabava.

Yaupon looks like a horse to be reckoned with in the 7th but I think The Sicarii will outrun his odds.

Now I have to sweat it out, c'mon.

I didn't seen anything objectionable, to be honest. Don't know what they're looking at.

Double Races 4/5...Race 4...the 5-Archumybaby has 40 career races, 13 wins, 2 of them right here, pro can get it done as well as the logical 1-Baby Boss at a low price...Race 5 JORR's 5-Matty Marauder, the 9-Angry Man 1,5/5,9 for $5 ($20)

I've had nothing to do with that wet track at GP today after a few early on. Their camera for the gate wasn't working either.

Saratoga is too risky. Weird stuff always happens there. It's a veritable roulette wheel/money pit.

Saturday Late P4 at Saratoga

Race 8- Wide open…fan of Flowers for Lisa but spreading wide
Race 9-Early speed sets up nicely for either the 6-Set Piece or the 7-Digital Age
Race 10- The scratch of Altaf opens this race up to 3 possible victors, the 6-Paris Lights, the 1-Tonalist Shape and the 2-Antionette
Race11-3 Central Banker offsprings run here and I like all of them 10-Top of The Mint, 8-Perfect Banker (Huge Price) and the 3-Quick Return

R8-8,1,3,9,5
R9-7,6
R10-6,1,2
R11-3,10,8
.50 for $45

With the scratch of Altaf I think Velvet Crush has a shot at wiring the field.

Going with the Irish in the 9th with Nay Lady Nay at MON. Highest WP in the field.

Think Tapit Today is fool's gold off the long layoff.

Will probably take Feeling Glorious, too, but maybe to place. Has been tough as nails in stakes races, with the second highest WP. Should be in good form 2nd off the layoff.

Nice call Rube, great ride, Paco Lopez is a quietly very good rider...thought he was asking for trouble, very nice

Race 7 Sara...think the 1-Yaupon will try to control the speed off the rail...and 3-BlindWillieMcTell is quality but I like the price on the 5-Cucina

Monmouth Cup - Tough one to handicap

The commentator might be right about Senior Investment. His last race on the mud is a toss, when otherwise he has been lights out. I'll take him on top.

Underneath

I liked Joevia in the Belmont Stakes last year, who came in third at long odds while putting up a 99 fig. But I don't like the form here so much, even though he has had decent works at MON and has been training there since mid June. His trainer makes him interesting as a 27% winner, but the jockey not so good at 7%.

It's hard to ignore Harper's First Ride because of his recent form. He just doesn't have the WP that the others do, but in the simulation stacks up very well and at the distance.

Arklow looks vulnerable here.

I'll go EX box with Arklow and Paret and with Current, too.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
