Did you know that if a person tests positive for the virus and is hospitalized for treatment for it that he gets tested every day he is in the hospital? And each time he is tested and the test shows positive that test will show up as a positive reported virus case. So, this uptick on the number of positive reported cases do not mean that the virus is spreading yet that is what the pundits and media are claiming that it shows.

This stuff is a clear example of bad reporting and forcing a false narrative on the public.

Interesting. Source?

His imagination.

No, Ill bet there is a source.

Apparently I am wrong according to a few articles that I've read. I was told this by a friend and didn't verify it from a reliable source. I apologize for the bad information.

No prob, Bob

"Covid-related fatalities" seems pretty steady too considering all the alarming number of CASES being reported in the US. Maybe give it 2 more weeks.

Unknown long term effects of Covid including asymptomatic cases

No doubt. However, chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia will no longer be diagnosed. So that's a plus.

Sounds about right. They are really going to start pushing "just wait for the miracle vaccine" soon too.

It’s important to have journalists who are asking questions and who are skeptics — it’s important to have a backstop against groupthink,” said Charles Ornstein, a deputy managing editor at ProPublica and a past president of the Association of Health Care Journalists. He has drawn Mr. Berenson’s ire for an article on Houston hospitals being overwhelmed with coronavirus patients. Mr. Berenson has been dismissive not only of ProPublica’s reporting but also of Houston hospital officials’ public statements.

“Alex cherry-picks individual data points that fit his narrative that things aren’t as bad as they actually are. That’s dangerous,” Mr. Ornstein said. “Clearly, across the country, things are getting worse, but to hear Alex’s version, they’re not that bad.”

Every new case negatively impacts the country, regardless of patient outcome.

Yep. And when the death data numbers due to Covid is itself suspect, it also fogs up the conclusions reached.

This guy is a cherry picker just like you. AZ has finally started leveling off because most cities and business started enforcing masks. We have long way to go but it has slowed cases and hospitalizations and as long as it continues the numbers will get better and we can avoid a total shutdown.

Just 5 days ago, the world was ending in Arizona, I doubt masks had anything to do with it.

Caller knob earlier in this post “I believe life is about compromise. So I'm fully onboard the mask train. Let's all wear them. They work. Now time to open up everything(schools/economy), full blast.”

You have been exposed as the flip flop piece of shit that you are. And it has been 3 weeks since the trump ass licking AZ finally started realizing he fucked up and said cities could impose mask wearing and after 3 weeks cases are leveling. You have zero credibility dipshit.

There is so much stupidity surrounding masks and there are idiots on both sides.

Just stopped into a store to pick up something. The store is having all employees wear masks. Poor lady behind the counter waited on some asshat dude who was going off on her for being one of those people who are afraid of this stupid virus and spreading fear and panic by wearing a mask.

No she is simply doing her job and following her employers guidelines.

People like this are just as big of idiots as the ladies videoing a guy trying to buy something without a mask.

People wearing sunglasses are destroying civilization. I see somebody wearing them and I feel like I've lost my humanity.

You might have a point if it were mandated that everyone was forced to wear them.

Let's try it like this:

Would everyone here agree that the government mandating face coverings is a violation of civil liberties that is only justified when faced with extraordinary circumstances?

And even if this is an extraordinary circumstance- and I would argue that it is more than fair to say it is- that the burden is on the government to establish that the civil rights violating measure they are mandating is absolutely effective and necessary?

Has the government illustrated with certain evidence that mandating masks is an effective and necessary strategy in mitigating this virus?

I would argue it most definitely has not.

Agreed. But we've been violating rights since the beginning. Hell, our 2nd President, with the ink barely dry, pissed all over them with the Seditions Act. It didn't destroy western civilization.

Again, pretend this is your wife making you do something you know is bullshit. A mask isn't a slippery slope.

Here's where you and I disagree. And the masks are only part of it. We have permanently altered our society. There is no going back. You're going to see how difficult it is to "reopen". Thirty-one people under the age of 17 have died from this virus and that is considered too great a risk for children to return to school. I'm not sure where the U.S. will be in 100 years but I'm almost certain I'm in for a rough ride the rest of my life.

Again, agreed, but the masks are 1% of it. Think about the dozens of problems that need IMMEDIATE ATTENTION. Many of which, in themselves, are fucking us up the ass. The Fed's money tree, the depression, race issues, our horseshit education, China, the twitter idiocracy, the media, Wall St, etc.

There isn't a chance in hell we come out of this unscathed. Life as we know it(well at least as we knew it from the mid 80's to March 2020)is over. I ain't sweating masks. I'm trying to get my ducks in a row.

Did you ever hear of that mouse experiment where the scientist built a habitat where the mice wanted for nothing? A mouse Utopia? They were all dead in 6 months. Even mice need meaning and purpose.
