My first assignment as a full time teacher was on the West Side. Rockwell hadn't been torn down yet. One of the funniest stories that I can remember happened when one of my former students tried to tell me that one of the local drug dealers had purchased Rockwell Gardens. I tried to explain to him that it wasn't for sale so how could it be purchased. He wasn't having any of it. At the end of the conversation I'd done nothing to convince him of the contrary.

That seems like pretty standard procedure for getting an unruly crowd to disperse. Pearl clutching over slowly advancing lines and tear gas deployment would be like disingenuously characterizing arrests as "abductions".

You know what looks like a war zone? Mobs of unruly people looting, disturbance making, arson and men freely walking around with dreaded AR15s. I saw that from protesters not cops. Looked like Afghanistan.
