Normally safe havens from crime, the downtown and north side of Chicago areas have turned into dangerous areas.

I myself have witnessed this in the trenches recently. This is what the constant mass protesting and mass looting has led to. As well them being given EVERYTHING for free. How is it I have to pay $99 for an annual Divvy pass, and they get it for $5!!!??? You see many of them on Divvy Bikes all over the place now. And they are in groups being loud and obnoxious.

And every day I see news reports about shootings taking place in downtown, or in gold coast, and other north side areas that normally felt safe.

Also saw on the news tonight about a shooting at Ontario and LSD. They had people there commenting how it's normally safe and now it doesnt feel safe anymore.

My son showed me a 15 minute or so video from a Yugoslavian lady talking about what went on in Yugoslavia in the early 90's and caused their civil war and how the same thing right now is happening in the US. It was really scary and was caused by militant socialist/communists intentionally dividing people and causing hatred and violence and eventually civil war. 100,000 people were killed in that war.

I'm sure there are those who will say I'm crazy or that this thought is hyperbolic, but I see what you describe as just part of the breakdown of society. Not that there weren't slobs that pissed in public before, but when there are people tearing down statues and looting stores at will without any repercussions, how big of a deal is it to relieve oneself in a park or drive 100 miles an hour in a 55 mph zone? How could we possibly punish those things when we are choosing to ignore much more serious crimes? And if we do punish those things while ignoring more serious stuff, we'll really have a breakdown.

ITs like the sainthood that is attributed to the George Floyd guy. That was simply the initial SPARK that got an organized socialist/communist attack on our general society. He didn't moderate it at all initially. Without politics, I think it was perfect. Eventually people started demanding that others get banned for ridiculous stuff and that's when BF became heavy handed.

We have a lot of regulars who don't give a shit about the community now. That wasn't true initially. I don't think you can have a political board without moderation or people will push the envelope until they become late night whistler. Maybe banning politics needs to be considered again.
