Who is giving these kids their scripts?

I just got a call from somebody that sounded like they were 23 saying, "Hi Dr. Ken, my name is Joe and I'm looking for some help and someone to point me in the right direction and I thought you'd be able to help me. I can be reached at...."

Does that guy really expect somebody to call them back? I don't call back anybody I don't already know but I sure as hell won't do it if they don't give me any idea who they are, where they work, what they'd like to discuss, etc.

I might call him back and tell him "Satan is the way to success. Follow his word. I hope that helps."

my job used to require massive amount of cold calling until i established myself.

but we are talking 15 years ago when not every phone was essentially VoIp and had Caller ID built in. We still make our BDR's spend time cold calling but its basically a practice in futility IMO.

btw, in the 15 years i've been doing this i've gotten a return on a cold call vm exactly 1 time.

I'll write them a script for $500. Next time he calls let him know.
