Dumb. More than one thing deserves blame

If starting pitching wasn't atrocious they'd be fine.

Nope. Putting AAA players above superstars would still be a problem

Yea, for a game here or there. Subpar pitching if it continues will have the larger impact. By next week the crying probably will look dumb.

Pitching is obviously the bigger problem but it's also one not worth bitching about. Kinda hard to find five new good starters overnight. A better manager is just sitting there doing post game openly campaigning for the job.

By next week the apologizing for Ricky will definitely still look dumb.

You have addressed second base. What about 1B, SS and corner outfield spots?

The rest are fine.

Tell Eloy to stop crashing into walls and you're golden.

Timothy Devon Anderson Jr (best baseball player in Chicago)makes up for the occasional brain fart with great offense. The same is true for OG Abreu. Roberts is Sonic and will assist in left. Nomar is competent and should be back in the next week.

He's not even the best player on the left side of his own infield.

I think that injury to Eloy was a freak accident. He basically backed to the wall and hit the pads okay but his head hit the metal frame. I really think that 99% of the time, nothing happens to the outfielder. It was just bad luck.

What we are seeing, though, is a lot of bad baseball. Part of it is the juiced baseball. The ball is carrying just like it did last year which sucked. I also think that part of the reason for the bad defense is the stupid shifts that managers are putting on which places defensive players in positions that they are no used to. When you have a natural 3rd baseman playing short-stop and the short-stop playing behind 2nd base, these guys are not used to the throwing angles that they have and errors occur. It also gives up more base hits since the hitters can see huge holes due to the defensive positioning. Its like a free hit to a decent hitter.

I think that's debatable, but I won't argue.

I don't think it really is debatable. Moncada is way better with the glove and as a power hitter and as a better eye. Timmay is probably the better for average hitter.

I hope Anderson can just get to league average on defense. He can be a star if that ends up being the case.

I just have thought that Anderson belongs in center field. He just doesn't have the balance to be a short-stop. He's maybe the best over-all athlete on the team along with Moncada maybe but he really lacks the balance and hand eye coordination to pick a ball and come up balanced and throw it. Short-stop, is the hardest position to play in my book. It is too late to move him now and the best he is ever going to be defensively is average.

???? Screw your stupid characterization. Have you ever played baseball? Ever worked out players at a specific position? If you ever did, you would know what I am talking about with the short-stop position. I think balance, the ability to read hops and the ability to make strong throws from different places on the field along with different arm angles requires an extremely gifted person and race doesn't have anything to do with it. Also, you can take any athlete, regardless of color and hit him thousands of ground balls and he may never be a decent short-stop. It really is the hardest position on the field of play.

Jiminez is injury prone. Every year he has to sit with something. Seems normal with juiced up overly muscular guys. Soler had the same issue(s).

He would be fine if he would just be fundamental. Some of his errors are either nonchalant throws or he's not in the right position to field the ball. Seriously, anything else I could live with because he's so dynamic.
