Both. I'm more interested in the Sox this year though. If both are playing at the same time, I'll watch the Sox unless they're getting their brains beat in. The underdog is more exciting.

I'm a happy lifelong Chicago baseball fan. I have the scars to prove it. Still trying to indoctrinate my kids.

For sure, but that might be the one thing to slow down the Nas baby machine.

What the hell is a Shane Bieber and how does he have 27 strikeouts this year?

Is there a MLB 2020 thread?

One week in, and 6 teams have already had games canceled for the Covid.

But if the Cubs end up winning the whole thing, defeating the 8 other teams that make it through all 60 games, I’ll take it. 8)

If we're cancelling games due to one positive test, then you might as well cancel the season.

Yep. Huge overreaction to the marlins situation.

Of course the Cardinals were the ones who tested positive.

All of these professional seasons right now are essentially exhibitions. I'm drawn to them only as a distraction, not out of any passion.

Probably wouldnt be happening if they didnt make the dumb decision to play that game on Sunday. That is going to be the thing that ruins this.

Clearly the thing to do here is disband the Cardinals. St Louis will just have to be a Blues town from now on.

If you think this is bad, the NFL will be a shit show without a bubble. take this situation, double the roster size, double the size of support staff, and add in a season that goes into fall/winter and you have a disaster for your league.

It also seems the 3 week ramp-up wasn't enough and is contributing to a lot of early season pitcher injuries. Kopech made the right call IMO, especially coming in off of surgery. This season doesn't look like it will be finished.

Up to multiple Cardinals (and staff) testing positive. Good news for the Sox is the Cards just played the Twins.

This is not even an baseball issue, its an American issue. The virus is spreading still all over, these players are traveling all over.

I would imagine if you tested every american right now you might get 5% positive. That could be seen as good news since deaths are not rising at the same rate but there is no way under current conditions to play in a non bubble and have all negative tests.

The other option is to play the game after the positive tests and then your team turns into the Marlins, right?

So we’re now at 8 teams with canceled games, and it will probably be 10 by the end of the day.
MLB’s plan vs the virus isn’t working.

Or maybe these grown men in peak physical condition should just play the game and worry about a sniffle later.

It's multiple players now so I get it a little more, but just send the players home and bring up players from the taxi squad.

How many players have died? Do you have the latest numbers?

I disagree. Gotta get rid of the Blues too just to be safe.

I know a "bubble" would suck for their players and families, but it's insane to me that the NFL is more or less using the honor system for players this season in terms of quarantining themselves when not at facilities. Yeah, I'm sure a bunch of newly rich 22 year olds are going to make very responsible decisions in that regard.

If you want to be sick, live in a "Bubble", the idea that bubbles are good for anyone is laughable.

They should send the 2 players home and call others up, but they still have to test all of the players/staff that have been in contact with them first.
