So the dishwasher is refusing to pump out water, really do not wanna waste money fixing it. Any recommendations on a new one? Would like to stay under a grand for one.

Have you tried talking to your wife to figure out what the problem is?

I've got a similar type of situation with my dryer. It might just be an internal circuit(we had a power surge last night while it was off, but the main circuit is fine) or a problem with the duct if It clogged, but the idea of bringing a repair guy in now for a 13 year old builders model just feels like lighting a stack of 20s on fire.

I was already planning on replacing the shitty builders model refrigerator this fall, but that may have to wait a while.

I would think that washing dishes would be right up her alley.

Bosch is good. We also have had a whirlpool, it was pretty good too.

Did you run a diagnostics check? Check YouTube for yours or check the service manual. Had the same problem and it was $15 float switch.

I've talked to several plumbers who hate Bosch.

I've had good success with GE's that ran in the 500 range or less.

Always pays to check out scratch and dent at Lowes.

modern appliances all suck. good luck man. just buy something that seems to be common so you can find replacement parts easily. its just a dishwasher, no matter what you get it wont be faster or better than what your lazy ass could do by hand.

I'd recommend checking ABT. Sometimes they have appliances that have slight damage or or last year's model that you can get for cheaper. Financing is decent as well.

And MANY don't need a fancy dishwasher with all the extra buttons and features. FEW actually use them and there is just more to break. We have a basic Kitchen Aid; have had it for years and it runs great (and quiet). A while back dishes in the top rack started coming out dirty but taking it apart and cleaning out the gunk, toothpicks and broken glass solved that. Otherwise 0 issues.

To your point about fancy you are spot on. We have a new GE high end that came with the house. So many leds, buttons, options it is like I am programming the Space X.

I agree most of the extra cycles and features are unnecessary, though one I wish I had with my Bosch is a plate warmer function (to warm plates before dinner, when the ovens are already in use).
