I think there will be a sizable push to make it the new normal, but there is also a very significant faction of the country that is vehemently against masks, and it doesn't fall down strict partisan lines like has been generally portrayed by the media. And the anti mask folks tend to be a bit more visceral in their reactions

There is silent majority that wear masks indoors or in crowded areas. Otherwise, no mask.

Unfortunately, as usual, the loudest are the NO MASK or PRO MASK crazies.

I think the question being posed here is when people are comfortable not wearing masks again, not where people are currently wearing them. It is certainly plausible that parts of the USA will be now and forever masked societies.

You're going to make yourself ill, please step away from the virus talk. All anyone knows with any degree of certainty is that no one knows anything else about it with any degree of certainty.

That's kind of been my point all along. We're making decisions that are changing the way we are living and the way we are going to live based on uncertainties.

But you've also been correctly suggesting that the status quo we've been swearing to for the last forty years has needed to be changed. We've been in fairytale land and compounding the problems we're all facing for far too long.
