Only when compared with the Royals and Tigers.

Really? The Tigers (and Twins, and White Sox) have a better winning percentage than four out of the five teams in the NL Central.

Winning pct after 11 games played mostly against their own division seems like not the best way to judge such things.

Royals have a 000 winning pct when not playing the terrible AL central.

We'll see what develops I guess.

What will develop is at the twins will likely remain good, with the Indians and White Sox on their heels. The Royals, Tigers, Brewers, and Pirates will all likely be mediocre at best.

Who knows what will happen at the top of the NL Central. But both Cubs and Sox are likely to have two creampuff teams in their division.

Brewers are significantly more talented than the other 3 you mentioned with them.

World Series odds

Brewers-17th

Royals-25th
Tigers-26th
Pirates- 29th

I think both divisions are pretty similar.

If there ever was a fucked up year to have a Red Line World Series, it would be 2020 with no fans in the stadiums.

On the bright side, he was officially credited with a "Hold" yesterday. Talk about a useless stat...

Sox fans invade Cubs thread yet again.

I thought you guys had a half decent team now that you can start posting in your own WSox forums? Guess not?

The inferiority complex is so evident here.

We can't fix Kimbrel and we certainly can't fix "Cubbie on the Brain" for the Subdivision. It's a mess!

I grew up watching Corey Patterson, Kenny Lofton, and Juan Pierre batting leadoff for the Cubs. Your leadoff hitter was to supposed to have speed and play CF, 2B, or SS.

I understand Ross' thinking in that you should put your best hitter at leadoff because he gets the most plate appearances when all is said and done. But how many times does the #3, #4, and #5 batter come up to the plate with men on base? It's definitely more than the leadoff hitter. I feel Baez and Contreras has come to the plate with men on much more than Bryant.

Bryant isn't hitting period (that will change) but I hope the ultimate goal is batting Nico leadoff and Bryant at #3 and #4.

Yeah, I think Bryant's pathetic RBI totals are a direct reflection of his place in the order. The fact that Bryant has driven in 73, 53, and 77 over the last three years is just wrong for someone of his caliber.

I think we all needed a break from the pandemicmaniacs flooding the forums.

I welcome any Sox fan that wants to talk sports in the Cubs forum. Anything that takes away from the LTG/JLN ramblings is a plus.

Here's where Bryant hit the last 3 seasons.

2019: #1 (0) #2 (82) #3 (58) #4 (2) #5 (3)

2018: #1 (7) #2 (43) #3 (36) #4 (3) #5 (6) #6 (4)

2017: #1 (0) #2 (110) #3 (38) #4 (1)

In 2016, Bryant had 60 RBIs through the end of June hitting 3rd. Maddon switched him over to #2 at the beginning of July because Heyward wasn't producing at the top of the lineup. Bryant finished with 102 RBIs.

In 2015, he got 120 games at either #3, #4, or #5. Hit 99 RBIs.

I think the Cubs know it sucks but I'm not so sure re-signing Castellanos was a missed opportunity. They knew he was going to make a lot of money and the Cubs decided they didn't want to pay $37 million to just 2 of their outfielders every year.

That's a fair point, but I don't think the Outfield budget is the reason the Cubs did not sign Castellanos. I think the fact that they have to pay Kimbrel, Darvish, and other picthers is the reason why.
