You didnt read what I posted. Buncha dudes on Divvy bikes.

They fuckin abandoned their Divvy bikes and jumped in the car and drove away!

So I wonder if they got charged late fees up the ass for not returning the Divvy bikes to the racks

Did they call in and get the fees reversed? Accounts suspended? No problem! Only 5 bucks to get another ANNUAL pass!

20% is about right. 50 is way too high.

People are definitely finally crawling out of their holes. Through June it was a ghosttown. Some people back to the offices, a buncha people out running, etc. But still overall you feel the remnance of the fuckin bullshit riots and Covid lockdown.

I think we are in danger of losing downtown to the older residential crowd who have options on where to live. I know the complaint for at least a decade is "Mayor X only cares about downtown" but the truth is north michigan avenue is a huge driver for so much of this city

You're beginning to panic and overreact to a lot of news lately. Relax my friend.

I'm not panicing. I may be overreacting. I'm on edge. Along with covid and work stuff, I have two big transitions with my kids and some associated separation anxiety. Baseball isn't helping as the parents are on edge and acting irrationally from day to day. I'm not happy with any of the school situations including academic and extra curriculars (not even including sports) and really fear the long term ramifications of this situation. Then there is the insecurity of the economy. I have no warm nest to flee to at the moment.

Very encouraging thing to say to someone who is on edge and not his normal self.

This storm will pass and we'll all be better because of it.

There's at least a half dozen more ways society can collapse than there was 20 years ago. And the ones that were already there are now worse.

They let you back into society after being a leech on the system, a racist and being on the registry for soliciting a minor. That's clearly a sign that things can get better for all of us.

We're a resilient people and nation. We'll find a way out of this hole we've dug because of China. I genuinely believe that we will all be better off because of this experience. No doubt this short-term pain will test your faith.

We’re too busy eliminating the rule of law because a dozen unarmed felons are killed by police every year.

I know a wealthy couple currently residing in Northbrook that put their place up for sale earlier this year with a plan to buy a condo downtown. After the riots, they abandoned those plans.

Are you telling me there's not one condo available in all of Del Boca Vista?

That's right. They went like hotcakes.

People want a place to go when the shit really starts hitting the fan. Good for of the gridders too.
