It will be like the Sox acquired an all star when he comes back for the playoff push

They're shopping for a stopgap 2nd baseman. Amazing how gullible Sox fans are about injury reports, L'il Nicky is done for this year.

No they aren't.

Mendick and Garcia can hold down that position just fine and Anderson will be back soon

Madrigal was such a nice addition at the bottom of the order Really put pressure on the other team to have that tough out at the end of the line-up.

I like Mendick. He had three hits yesterday and I think he will be fine in the infield.

I am gonna guess that Madrigal is done for the year, if they are talking surgery.

I don't quite understand how he injured himself so seriously on that play.

Didn't look like much.

Weak tiny shoulders.

He had three hits yesterday, and he will get a shot for at least awhile.

Despite the doubters, it appears his game plays just fine at the mlb level

He's just got to get stronger. Punch and Judy seeing eye singles run out sooner than later.

Got a pretty good rip on that last out in the 9th. Slice that just a bit to the left and that's a 2 bagger or even triple if it gets the right bounce

He got all of it and it almost made it to the warning track.

He's fine. He's Scott Fletcher. Just add about 15-20 points of OBP.

A little grown man strength will help him immensely.

I'm more concerned with his defense than his hitting. He'll get on base okay and makes a good #9 hitter in front of Anderson. He's not going to be a star in this league but should be a fine offensively.

You don't think GG defense in the minors translates?

If he is gonna have this surgery for the shoulder in the offseason, not sure how he adds strength.

The Hawk:

Just from seeing him, I question his arm strength. I don't know for sure though. We'll see how it plays out going forward. I kind of think that his defense is why when the Sox shift which they do a lot, that Anderson ends up playing deep and to the right of 2nd and Madrigal at or about 2nd base. I believe that they do that because they expect the ball to be pulled by a left handed hitter and Anderson would be able to make the longer throw to first with more on it than Madrigal. Anderson has a cannon for an arm and I'd say Madrigal's arm is average at best.

Just an observation.
