the liberal meltdown to this virus is fascinating to me. now on reddit the locals are crying that all the long time businesses are closing and state street is turning into a ghost town. they are blaming trump for it too. its unreal how stupid these people are. all because they were scared of half of a percent mortality rate.

You have to understand that this economic damage is being wrought intentionally as a campaign tool.

My point was that we had a system that encouraged people to do things that weren't profitable. College athletics, until now at least, encouraged student-athletes to pursue what they found intrinsically valuable without forcing them to find extrinsic motivation for making the sacrifice that comes with being a student athlete. I found there to be tremendous value in that, and if it meant some student-athletes didnt necessarily receive compensation commiserate with the value of what they created on the field (basically just football and basketball this applies to) that's OK.

For everyone one football or basketball player it exploits, the system support(ed) ten college athletes to pursue a scholarship in a sport very few people care about against any sort of financial good sense. That's gone now. And people cant stop dancing on its grave.

As far as I can see, your “points” exist outside the bounds of the topic. I never addressed you til you quoted me and said something—as usual—that was irrelevant.

So like I said, carry on.

These people are under a severe amount of delusion if they think there wont be colossal societal blowback for this kind of sentiment.

I don't think these people understand what is going to happen to every college town across America. This is what they are rooting for. Football or sports is just a small piece. Their local economy will be destroyed.

Oh you're not fooling anyone with this. Maybe yourself, but that's about it.

What happens when football fans getting upset about there not being football manifests itself in men abusing their wives? We do not, in fact, love to see it.

I think they understand that shutting down universities is going to be disastrous for land-grant college towns but think it's Actually Good.

She mentions trying to read a book as a potential new hobby. When do you think the last time one of these Twitter addicts read a book? They cant consume the world in less than two-hundred and fifty characters yet I somehow expect that they'll have the patience to sit down with something for hours?

The Penn State stuff was just too much for Bernsie. He definitely wants college football to fail because of this.

But but but July tells us that half of football fans are women, so wouldn't it stand to reason that half the people that are pissed off at this are women?

College football is awesome but you do have to turn off your brain and let your neanderthal gene take over.

This a steaming pile of shit crowed by the right winger like Knob. Sorry to want the Republicans to actually do something to prevent the spread instead of ignoring it like Knob. If testing, contact tracing, mask wearing had been ramped up by Fed govt. when we initially shut down, your kids would be in school instead of remote learning and sports would not be getting cancelled. And the dancing right now around providing stimulus will only make the economy worse.

Leave my family out of it, Deacon Cuck.

Does Bernstein still have a Heisman vote? That should probably be revoked if he hates the sport so much.

The article proudly says he does. He also claims he is a better voter by being able to be dispassionate.

Which is odd, because at first he insinuates that people who live in pro-sports deserts are all yokels, but then he says he sees every region as the same....
