I know it's cliche to mention this but the whole debate here about the visibiity of BLM just underscores how minority communities don't think in lockstep with one another. There are black folks who hate BLM and there are BLM folks who hate other black folks. There are BLM folks who hate other BLM folks. It's not always a crystal clear thing when it comes to minority movements.

This is mostly true. Even on this board the balcks tend to have different takes on how to accomplish certain things and views of people like the Clintons and Biden. It's as if we're different people who views are mostly formed by our life experiences.

Don't tell Joe.

You see guys it wasn't real black people behind BLM and the looting. And it's certainly not news because no black people in RR's black neighborhood ever talked about looting or the biggest political movement and news story in the country the past 3 months.

Here is an article about all the BLM murals in the city. It's not restricted to a few areas in the city.

https://chicago.suntimes.com/murals-mos ... ing-boards

Figures that one of the resident board piece of shit bigots apparently didn't actually read, or comprehend the point to an article he ignorantly cited to prove a widespread devotion to the BLM organization by the community he hates.

That he's too stupid to look at the colorful pictures of often very temporary murals speaks volumes. Nitwit. As usual.

You went to a black only school. You live in a nearly black only neighborhood. You talk with your mostly black friends. Your racial identity is clearly the most important part of your identity. Yet you have no awareness of major black political movement that likely includes murals and signs in your neighborhood and dominates the news outside of this message board. You are either lying or senile.

As for the rest, calling someone a racist now if about the same as calling them a witch. If someone disagrees with you they are a heretic.

Oh no! The examination by a bigoted piece of shit who ran from the board like a pussy when he got blowback from his stated desire to freely call people n*ggers. And now this same piece of shit wants you to believe that he, a drunken racist fool understands Black politics more than anyone who ever disagrees with him.

But rest assured, I'm not going to try and tell you what's trending with lying shitstains like you, Hawk, jln and leotardo on 8chan.

Come on, the claim that you don't really hear about BLM outside of this board is so obviously bullshit I don't even know why you tried to get away with it.

Uncanny how often your presumptions rule your line of thinking on here. Now he must have seen it. And you know this how exactly?

Blackjack was my game for a long time. Eventually I got sick of all the idiots who don’t even know perfect basic strategy trying to tell me how to play. Nothing like hitting a hard 12 against a dealer’s 2 to rile up the table.

Yeah a dummy can screw up a table but the book says that you're supposed to hit that. Probably a 50/50 hit for me.

My card dummy guys were always the ones that stay on 12/13 against a face. Got to jump up at that point.

Exactly on hitting that unless you’re counting.

The key to enjoying blackjack is not worrying about what anyone else does. If third base takes a bad hit, it is just as likely to help you as it is to hurt you. If the dealer let you pick which card he would use between the next card in the shoe or the second, does it really matter which one he uses? You only know afterwards....

I've been in casinos exactly twice in my adult life and played poker a couple of other times primarily because I got hooked on the late night poker shows twenty years ago where they discussed strategy.

Plus I'm one of those people that hates losing more than I enjoy winning.

And fwiw, thanks for derailing this :D

Yeah but I used to play best either by myself or with a rock star table of players. Card dummies can screw you up more often than not.

And they'd only sit there if they see that you are rolling the table. I used to hate that. A bad hit can screw a table up. I always just preferred to play them straight up as opposed to guessing all the time.
And you know the "cooler" guy rumors too.
Or you had the guys that loved to jump in and out of the shoe all the time. The "Swammy" guys as I used to call them.

I always laugh at the people at a $10 table who get mad when someone plays their gut instead of the book. Go to a $100 table if you want that.

You're right about that. Guys that play off "Gut" tend to not bet much or often. Best to avoid them at all costs if you plan to gamble as opposed to simply play.

Too often with blackjack I'd see guys beat themselves Much more often than the cards would. MANY of those types of players would be the ones that play off "gut"

Lincoln Park Zoo theft:

https://cwbchicago.com/2020/08/groups-o ... d0lKnXi_fA

*****************************

Groups of teenagers battered and robbed bicyclists twice over the weekend, according to police — once on the Magnificent Mile and again outside the Lincoln Park Zoo.

Lincoln Park robbery

Around 10:40 a.m. on Sunday, a 73-year-old man was nearly struck by a vehicle as he bicycled on the 2200 block of North Cannon outside the zoo’s entrance, according to Chicago police. Two occupants of the car, a 17-year-old male and a 14-year-old girl, exchanged words with the man, then battered and robbed him along with other teens, police said.

Cops searched the area and arrested the 17- and 14-year-olds at the zoo. Both are charged with felony aggravated battery of a person over the age of 60.

Prosecutors also charged the girl with resisting and aggravated battery of a police officer because she allegedly spat in a cop’s face.

A group of teenagers robbed a couple of their Divvy bikes on the Magnificent Mile Saturday evening, police said. The victims, a 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl, had their bikes near a Divvy docking station on the 100 block of East Oak when about six offenders approached them at 7:09 p.m., according to a CPD report.

The group threatened the couple, demanded their Divvy bikes, then fled southbound on Michigan Avenue, a police spokesperson said. Neither victim was injured.

Blackjack is often loved by players because of the illusion of choice and the relatively simply concept of the game. Both of those are fallacies. The so called choice is simply playing a hand the statistically correct way such that the house edge is very low or playing it in a way that increases the house edge. As for being easy, there are a lot of very tough plays like when to split fours, which also depends on things like whether the house hits on a soft 17. One of the finest plays is when to hit an Ace/7....

So you are the guy that splits 2 jacks as a way of screwing up the guy playing behind you double down against a 4?

I play for team dolphin, no one else. If I'm up, drinking and want an adrenaline rush, I might do anything.

I don't think I've ever gone to a casino on my own and go once every few years. Sorry if that upsets your sensibilities.

Nah I don't mess with them unless I'm in Vegas but I run away from the guys that do crazy shit on the table. I don't argue with them all that much i just find another table.

Note to self, never play Blackjack with Dolphin. Immediately get up from the table if he sits down.

Casinos are basically nursing homes during the day. Probably the best place to get a positive COVID-19 test. But I don't know how anyone can trust online card games.

In today’s casinos with continuously shuffled multi-deck shoes, the cards are truly random and cannot be counted. A guy making a move against basic strategy is just as likely to help you as hurt you.

That said, when a guy take the ten that would have busted the dealer, it still pisses me off.

I know this is also bad strategy but it's fun. Play two hands. One basic strategy, the 2nd gut.

I played with a guy who had to be late 70s on one of the Indiana boats in the early days, must have been the original Horseshoe, who was splitting face cards against a six. Damned if he didn't get a face card on the first one, and split it again. He won 3 and lost 1, and was convinced that he was playing well. This was a six deck shoe, so I doubt he was counting.
