The guys that played 2 hands weren't all that irritating as long as they didn't flip flop with it all the time. Again "Swammy blackjack" they'd throw it in lose a hand then jump back to one, then out the hand altogether then back in. Stuff got crazy after awhile. Sometimes you have to ride the wave and it was tough to do with those cats around.

I played at Oneida up near Green Bay many years ago. I sat down at an established table. One dude had large stacks of winnings and wasn’t shy about telling me that he was good at Blackjack. It didn’t phase me because bad players are often rewarded for misplaying hands, which reinforces their ego about the game (see I was right!).

In any case, smarty pants proceed to replay every hand after it was done. “If you had hit, and she stood, and he hit, we would have won the hand.” He kept telling me how to play my hand, which I replied, my money my hand.

He was extremely superstitious about the vaunted bust card. As if only a ten would come out when someone had a hard 12-16 in front of them. We argued for about an hour over this. While I was there, his stacks kept dwindling as his luck had run out. It ended on the worst play of all time. The guy had 7 in front of him. Just 7. The dealer had a 6 showing. He was convinced that he would take the dealer’s bust card if he hit even though a hit could not bust his own hand no matter what came out. The idiot stood on 7. Of course, the dealer made a pat hand and the guy lost. The dealer just shook his head. The guy left after that, and I saw him at the video blackjack machines.

Over 90% of the players at low limit blackjack tables make several mistakes every hour. I don’t mind. I studied the game heavily and knew every play from years of reading books and practicing at live tables. I never wanted to give up odds. I just don’t care if other people do.

Yeah thats why they were affectionately referred to as "The Jungle".  If you want to have a little fun, drink and move along those were the best tables. Guys that lose there aren't really taking it all that serious. If you were going to really gamble high limit was the route to go.

The plays you'd see out in the jungle would make your head spin.

The guy that used to trip me out would be the person who asks me my opinion on the best play to make only to do the complete opposite of what I suggested. I'd be like damn why'd you ask then?

Always 2nd hand gut. If I'm drawing 2s and 4s I expect a face card for my 2nd hand. Same with a face card on the first. I might hit a 13 if dealer is showing a 3. I'm not crazy about it though. It's just cool to FEEL like I have some wiggle room.

I saw a few BLM signs in north Evanston have been removed and replaced with a sign that says "LOVE".

there's some church or school that's on 91st right off of Kingery/83, like right near the entrance to 55. Guess that's Darien ?
Anyway they had a huge BLM banner in the front for awhile but it's gone now

Up until the last week or so, depending on what route I walked my dog, I saw no fewer than three BLM window/yard signs.

for the life of me I don't know why an organization would put up a sign with capital BLM. If you believe in the concept, use lower case. Otherwise you are supporting an organization and all the good and bad it may bring.

It's like saying I am for democratic government or Democratic government. Subtle change in look with rather large difference in meaning.

I guess the answer in most cases the answer is "we don't give a fuck, we're just doing it for pr"

We need that Smith dude on this website. He looks like a bad ass. Another DS to replace the one we lost (and the same initials as me) is definitely a plus.

JORR made a similar point about this. I suppose I'd support the organization if they weren't sometimes focused on the power grab, not justice. Of course, if they're not in it for power, then why bother?

there's a BLM billboard off US93 south of Kalispell that keeps getting defiled. other than that the general attitude towards the movement is extremely hostile in the state of Montana, which is great. Bless em.

I also wonder how the Bureau of Land Management feels about all this.

It is remarkable how Montana, a state with maybe a dozen black people in it, can see right through the bullshit and call Black Lives Matter out for the crock of shit it is. Meanwhile states where people should know better cant seem to reckon with the reality.

The Broomball League of the Americas was actually thinking of suing BLM, but there was no one to sue. I'll find a link.

This is funny.

From the confrontation between residents of Englewood and BLMchi:

Mike Rowe was in Englewood last year to promote and give money and a vehicle to a local after school center. Not enough is talked about in the media of the people who are doing good.

Black fathers are literally our last bastion of masculinity in the USA. Nobody else is allowed to beat the gay out of kids. Mad respect.

Can you imagine how scared all those white kids were? My guess is there were looking for the police to protect them.

White liberals are never afraid. They think the world is a superhero movie and that they are the righteous good guys. Childish retards, I dont know why we abide their continued existence.

Nah, they were pretty scared when the guy with the bullhorn started calling them out.

The white libs seemed to have left, and the younger black BLM people started getting into it with Mr. Davis and his friends.

That's what I along with Reader tried to explain the other night. There isn't much of a BLM presence in these communities. Its a myth perpetrated by people that do not understand how such communities function.
