I believe that those folks had a LEGAL RIGHT TO CARRY weapons. But that doesn't work for bigoted folks like you does it.

Were they ever fired? Did they even point them at anyone?

Threats were made and some of the lawmakers wore bullet proof vests for protection.

Funny shit. Threats are made all of the time to politicians. It comes with the job. The people who had guns had PERMITS to carry them. Of course, liberal socialists like Toad do not care about the legal rights of anyone but people like BLM and Antifa and other commie assholes.

Ignoring the symbolism of marching in the virtual shadow of the former Robert Taylor Homes, the reason the State Police and IDOT will allow them to march on that stretch of the Ryan is that they can just close the northbound local lanes and let them march up to 31st before the Ryan cuts northwest at the Stevenson merge.

On a Saturday, there is minimal traffic impact and better than having people march on arterials. There is also nothing to loot on the Ryan. And hopefully they will be loud enough to distract the Cardinals' pitchers and let Anderson and Moncada have a big day.

[iDemonsrators are planning to march onto — and possibly shut down — the Dan Ryan Expressway this weekend to protest police brutality, an organizer for the rally said Wednesday.

Over the last few weeks, organizers for the “Black Lives Matter March: Shut down the Dan Ryan” rally have been meeting with local and state law enforcement officials to coordinate the march that will resemble Rev. Michael Pfleger’s 2018 rally.

Led by several organizations, including Tikkun Chai Inter-National and Chicago Activist Coalition for Justice, the demonstration is scheduled to start at noon Saturday at Robert Taylor Park, near 47th and Federal streets on the South Side.

Before heading to the Dan Ryan, organizers plan to go through the strict requirements set by local and state police departments. Some of those rules include no PVC pipes, wagons or coolers. Protesters also are asked to stay off the CTA Red Line train tracks.

From there, the group plans to enter the Dan Ryan using the 47th street ramp, an organizer said. The protesters then plan to march north before leaving the highway at a designated exit determined by the Illinois State Police.

It’s unclear if Illinois State Police plan to block off all northbound lanes as the march happens, but a spokesperson for the state police said they’re working with the Chicago Police Department to protect protesters.

“We have been in contact with the protest organizers to set up a safe route of travel,” Sgt. Delila Garcia said in a written statement to the Chicago Sun-Times. “The Illinois State Police will protect the rights of those seeking to peacefully protest while ensuring the safety of the public.”

Is the Dreadlock Cowboy going to lasso anyone on the Ryan? Hey, maybe they should just shut the Ryan forever to traffic? Why not make a "social justice" park out of the concrete slab. Hell they did it in Portland and Seattle. I said yesterday that this is now coming to Chicago. Hell George Soros put the prosecutors in many major cities including the squirrel jawed prosecutor in Chi town. Think that people are going to stay in Chicago? Think businesses are going to re-open once again?

By the way NYC is also going to become a shell like Detroit became not long ago.

it's idiotic.

it should not be allowed on the expressway. Thats not peaceful. Thats being a bunch of jagoffs.

People driving thru the state that have to get somewhere and they have to stumble upon this bullshit.

It should only be allowed on local streets.

I guess the flip side of the coin is that they will be blocking off the expressway that they would normally drive on. Better than shutting down I-355 or I-88 or some shit.

In what world does someone think they can stand in the middle of a highway and be safe and have the police protect them? Fuck them.

They did this 2 years ago. Thinking they were gonna teach someone a lesson, or get people's attention. But guess what. It doesn't. It's useless.

no, not outraged. It's not terrorism. But it's also not peaceful when your fucking up motorists' day.

exactly.

It affects more non-local people than local people.

Do you think there's anybody left who they need to raise awareness for? Are they closing the Dan Ryan in case somebody came out of a nine month coma and needs to be told that BLM is back and crazier than ever?

Reader needed to see it because he thinks it's being made up by bigots on this board. It's not an issue anywhere else but here.

And you need the reassurance of a kid who admitted that out of anger and frustration, that he felt the need to go off on racist tirades like you, juicy, hawk and leotardo.

And don't realize that he's accomplished more than you, has more integrity and credibility, not to mention brings exponentially more interesting thoughts than you and your white citizens council/qanon weirdos that increasing loose your diarrhea around here.

I have no idea what you are talking about. This is old man yelling at the sky level bullshit.

You add nothing but white supremacist pablum, on a sports and humor board because you seem to be nothing more than a joyless, ignorant, racist incel. Carry on loser.

when you disagree with someone, u just call them waycist. Puh-lease.

In what world does someone think they can stand in the middle of a highway and be safe and have the police protect them? Fuck them.

Being protected by the same police they’re protesting against .

Hey cool. Finally something is being done to speak out about the gang violence, daily murders, kids being shot and looting that's so prevalent in the city. Oh right, not going to protest that. Its police brutality that's the issue.

Brouge is coming around on the police brutality issue? Never thought I'd see the day.

Sound like a great time for a monster truck rally on the Dan Ryan freeway.

You won't come back here though, remember?

You have to come by yourself.

Stand on your own, without back up.

I think there are a lot of people who don't actually like the ideals this country was built upon when put into practice.

Other countries protest anything and everything. The Italians shut down the trains for a couple of hours every month or so as a strike and no one thinks anything of it.

Ya dont say?

Many of the flag wearing/waving self described patriots hate Freedom of Religion, regular people having any sort of power, and they crave an authoritarian government (and some really want a Monarchy)
