How disappointing has he been since 2016?

In his defense he's been hurt every year after 2016.

In his defense, 2016 was an aberration. Just like Harpers MVP year. History is littered with players who had a one off MVP year in their early to mid 20s then leveled out.

He’s still very good. .285/.380/.990 is very solid

I agree. I’d rather have ARam.

It’s one of those things though..KB has a higher OBP and WAR year in and year out..so far. And is more versatile. And oh yeah was an MVP and deservedly so on a World Series team.

Buuuuuuut....Ramirez somehow still seems like the correct choice. The metrics love KB but who do you want at the plate day in and day out. I’ll take Aramis.

Don’t tell me what you hit , tell me when you hit them. (312 Player excepted )

I agree. But go peruse KBs splits..late and close he’s above average.

I’d still take Aramis. But that criticism of KB is unfair statistically

KB’s defensive versatility puts him over ARam, but man Ramirez was a clutch hitter.

Prolly juiced up tho.

Also, should have traded KB for Arenado in the off-season, but who knows how that would have affected team chemistry.

Aramis wasn't as bad as a defender as people think

KB gets all his love due to where he was picked and Cubs and Score hype. He’s hardly Robin Ventura when all said and done.

First round pick, MVP and World Series winner. Not many saviors come to fruition.

Getting hit in the head in 2018 is when things starting turning for the worse.

Yes he did all of that. But by the end... years from now... Ventura.

Yes, he has never been the same after getting hit in the head. Sammy also didn't have the same confidence at the plate after he returned from getting hit in the head. I believe Andre Dawson also flinched at a lot of pitches after he got hit as well.

If they are lucky, they can trade him for Clevinger in the off-season. The Indians outfield is pathetic so he can primarily move to RF and back up at 3B/1B/DH. If they are out of it next July, the Indians can trade him for prospects and reboot.

The Indians will be desperate to unload Clevinger, who with this demotion may not even hit 4 years of service time. So that's 3 years of arbitration control for him and he can slot into the #3 behind Darvish and Hendricks.

Injured again. You can't give him Darvish money at this point.

That would be nice, but you might not have that much time.

He bet on himself and probably lost. More injuries and COVID impacts on the league. I can't see anybody giving him more than 70% of what Rendon got.

Yes. One great season, and the rest of his Chicago career has been littered with injuries and relatively disappointing statistics.

The Alshon Jeffery of the Cubs. Always seems to be something wrong.

Is Happ better and more valuable than Bryant? I kinda think he is.

yes, getting hit in the head seems to affect players. Look at Heyward as well
he keeps getting hurt

anyone noticed the eye twitch?

Kasper and JD just agreed Happ has been the best player on the team this season.
