One of the most iconic movies of all time.

Listening to a podcast with Tarantino. He said the Vince and Jules parts were written for Mark Madsen and Fishbourne.

My initial reaction is Madsen could have nailed and even improved Vince but Fishbourne would be a big downgrade in that role and I’m generally a fan of his.

One of the best Tarantino movies.

Idk if the dancing scene would have had as much cultural impact with anyone but Travolta.

I still think Sam Jackson should have been nominated for best supporting actor.

Everyone nailed their roles, and the writing was innovative at the time.

Maybe I underestimate the dance scene but I don’t think it would have changed the culture if Madsen was playing the role.

Maybe if it was during Stuck In The Middle With You.

It is kind of cool to find out Quentin wrote Vincent Vega for Madsen.

In the past I’ve read Travolta’s Vincent and Madsen’s Reservoir Dogs character were written as brothers.

I’m assuming something like was already in your purview but the Madsen and Fishbourne bits came from Tarantino doing the King of New York Rewatchables Podcast on The Ringer. They have some decent ones and his three episodes are especially great

I’ll have to check it out.

Sometimes Tarantino’s inability to focus wears on me during long interviews tho.

"So Michael wasn't available, okay? He is Victor Vega, okay? What do I do? I make the character Victor's brother Vincent, okay? That's how you keep continuity."

I got a threshold, FavreFan. I got a threshold for the abuse that I will take. Now, right now, I'm a fuckin' race car, right, and you got me in the red. And I'm just sayin', I'm just sayin' that it's fuckin' dangerous to have a race car in the fuckin' red. That's all. I could blow.

Perfect example. You’re out of your mind if you think Travolta’s delivery in a scene like that would be better than Madsen’s. Mark or Michael.

Has Tarantino ever addressed that it was Marcellus's soul in the briefcase?

Great question.

I heard that 20 years ago, and have been telling everyone since.

Dumb question. Damien Lillard was in the briefcase obviously.

The Jack Rabbit Slim's scene certainly would have been different. Good luck keeping up with that Uma...

Travolta's career was over until this movie reignited it.

Max Madsen turned down Pulp Fiction to appear in what ended up being the second best Wyatt Earp film of the year. Whoops!
