Right but you understand the relative “inconvenience” of being delayed on the expressway for a few hours right? And I don’t need to hear about the sob stories about missed interviews and such. No social reform movements are ever clear and completely free of unintended negative consequences but I think you’re bright enough to aware how “no, don’t slow down the freeways, protest in Elwood instead where it won’t affect any day to day stuff” is disingenuous

I wouldn’t fret much about this type of story. The country is divided at as it is. This type of story pushes every moderate to the right.

Of course I understand, and I've already said that so long as notice is posted by the government allowing this to happen then everything is good.

It is perfectly reasonable to think that protesters shouldn't be able to trap unsuspecting motorists on a highway, especially a highway that runs through some not-so-nice parts of town, come on man.

I don’t think that’s reasonable at all actually but I’ve already admitted I probably grew up in a different country than I thought I did.

I grew up in Schaumburg in the 90’s and was still luckily able to see protests a lot more inconvenient than delaying traffic and we’re still here. It might have been on the news though

Would you be alright with the unsuspecting motorists trapped by a protest breaking through the protest ranks in their vehicle to escape, or do you think the would need to be prosecuted?

I mean it would depend on the situation. I’m not a lawyer so I don’t know the legality of it. But I don’t think you can run over and kill someone if they are inconveniencing you.

But if it’s not legal yet I’m sure there’s a big group in the US pushing for it.

OK, so someone's freedom of movement is subject to the whims of someone protesting whatever they please. And you're the one crying about "this isn't the America I grew up in"?

This post doesn’t make sense to me, whatsoever.

Are you under the impression protests never inconvenience people? Or do you wanna just tap out now?

Where do you think that Littletwat is going to let them paint BLACK LIVES MATTER on the Ryan? 79th street? What's your guess?

I'm saying that you look pretty silly crying about "this isn't MY America" when you're arguing that protesters should be able to hold travelers captive on a whim.

But you're clearly not going to be rational about this, so I'm gonna go do other stuff.

Holding captive? I never said that. Learn the definition of words before you try to rebut me again. And here I thought we were finding common ground but like usual when challenged you retreat to lying about what I said and what the situation we discussed is.

I gave you a chance. You did what you do. Can’t say I’m surprised.

Is there anything else black people can do as to not inconvenience you too much?

Sure. They can quit rioting, looting stores, assaulting innocent people, killing young innocent children, advocating communist manifestos as in Black Lives Matter. Shit like that.

You clearly think that protesters should be able to shut down expressways whenever they please. One of the things about expressways is that there are limited numbers of exits. You also don't think that people that become trapped on the highway due to a protest should be able to break through the protest lines with impunity to avoid having their free movement hindered. Therefore, you think, whether you outwardly express it or not, that protesters should be able to restrict the free movement (or, "hold captive") unsuspecting motorists on the highway. I can't help it that you're too stupid to see what you're actually arguing.

Go find common ground with someone that gives a shit about or respects you even the slightest bit.

Yes! I do. They should. Protestors should absolutely not be allowed on private residences and private property. BLM shouldn’t be able to go into your living room. Either should the KKK. Both should be allowed to protest and shutdown expressways without being murdered.

In regard to your last edit here I gave up on that, at least for the night. You’re clearly in one of your fascist moods. You vacillate I’ve noticed.

Again, I’m ok with continuing this discussion tonight, I have enough weed to tolerate your repetitive questions that toddlers ask, but I’m really gonna need you to familiarize yourself with the definition of holding captive if you want me to respond in anything resembling good faith. Cuz good fucking lord that is disingenuous

When you confine someone's movement they are "captive". That's literally the definition of the word. You think protesters should be able to shut down expressways on a whim and thereby completely restrict the movement of people traveling on said expressway. Once again: Therefore, you think that protesters should be able to hold captive anyone traveling on the expressways whenever they please. Maybe ease up on the bud.
