I always thought that Happ was drafted in that first round to be a trade chip, since they already had Almora, Baez, and Russell. The Cubs decided to trade Eloy and keep Happ. It seemed stupid at the time. But he has been playing at a step-below-All Star level since they banished him to Iowa and gave up on him as a 2B.

He will eventually settle into that #5 spot in the lineup once some of the 2021 guys get shuffled out of town.
