So today the Angels and Giants started throwing at each other. The Angels pitcher hitting Longoria in the back may have been an accident. The Giants pitcher throwing at Trout's head twice in the 9th up 7 definitely was intentional.

someone pointed out that Mike Trout had done the same thing and nobody said anything about it.

Pitchers are babies, but they should be able to knock hitters off the plate. That rarely happens these days.

Manny Machado did it in Texas also with SD manager coaching at 3rd base.

maybe i'm naive and still in this mode where i'm sure i'm only marginally less athletic than a professional ball player (i'm 40) But if he'd of hit a single, i don't think this would of gotten any pub whatsoever. But the dude yacks on one and now its a problem. An aquaintance played for the rockies and then the mets for a few years. he said outside of defensive 3-2 swings and bunts, almost every swing is potential HR swing. it just depends on whether you barrel up the ball right or not. all he did was swing at a pitch outside edge the other way and the ball got out. he didn't hit some towering pull bomb, take a knee, and pretend his bat was a bazooka.

Baseball can be a lot of fun without the dinosaurs (young and old) and the stats clowns trying to hamstring it at every turn. Especially the goofs that looked the other way during the beginning of the steroids era whilst padding their wallets as a result.

It's the kids' time, and now it's their game. Adapt or shut up.
