Nice first outing by Dunning. Got a little fortunate with some high fastballs but it was probably adrenaline taking over. Pretty good performances for every pitcher tonight.

Collins had a good game. Looked like a real catcher. Not sure where the urge to give up on him for a try hard journeyman is coming from.

That try hard journeyman bashes the baseball. HE actually had a better year offensively than Robert last year. As for looking like a real catcher, he was lousy in blocking a ball in the dirt to the right trying to backhand the ball instead of sliding to his right on the curve in the dirt.

I get it. But it would be nice to knock the rust off of Dunning and see how good he can be.

As far as I'm concerned, Rodon is done. He's not effective when not getting a start every 5 days. He only gets command through regular work. At this point, either pen him or DFA him. He is of no use as a starter.

He just over 100 big league at bats, and he is about the only player on the roster will the skill set of a good batting eye/willingness to walk. He's barely caught, and he looked pretty good last night. It's a bit early to write him off.
