I remain undefeated in board hoops. 4-0.

Hoffy can attest.

That perfection alone should make me a first-ballot HOFer.

Good dolphin
Nas/Hova/machiavelli/BAN ME!!!

For sure those 3 are in the team picture.

I could make a case for at least 15 more. I also agree, too much recency bias in these names.

He was the grindy guy. You looked like you knocked down a few corner shots in your life. Did Goff show up that day?

I wasn’t there for Goff day.

The day IB and W_Z chased each other around, we went out and pounded some beers with Silvy afterward.

It's amazing to think how this board was back then to get together, and how it is now

I agree.

Hard to even imagine that I hosted a dozen board members at my place of employment for like 4 hours of hoops one day...

HawaiiYou is an unforgivable mention but I’ll assume Nardi is also the type of guy that puts his balls in a vice for kicks. Rest of his post is fair though.

Getting off on dumb funny is a regrettable quirk of mine. I still smile at "Yellow Piss"

However, if the nomination cannot be accepted, then it's Tommy.

I believe those were technically preseason games.

Camps was there too. His clothing was immaculate and the ladies outside the gym stood no chance. He may have played basketball also. Can’t remember.

Mid to late aughts, Furious had a very strong hoops game. 6am full court twice a week at Skokie's Weber Center will do that.

Maybe if FavreFan hadn't snubbed me on a weed hookup, I would have felt compelled to show up at one of these things.

I don't think I was around for this, but it would've have mattered. I was forced to retire from basketball in 2000 after back surgery #3. That was rough, going from playing 6-7 days per week to being told you can never play again. Giving up playing sucked enough, but I also lost at least 100 basketball friends in the process.

Sucked so much I couldn't even bring myself to watch basketball for about 15 years.

I miss the the echoes of the gym. The Orlando bubble reminded me of it. When you are the first to walk onto the court, bounced the ball, it reverberates, throw up a brick and hear that loud clang. Or the NBC. Nuttin' But Cotton. Sweet sounds.

When I was in high school we walked a few blocks to an old high school that had closed but kept gym open for community use for practice most days. Our home gym was only one court and this had 3 if i remember right. It was cold, it was cavernous but it was great being one of the first mines out there. I kind of miss of it but I am under no illusions on my skill level. Many days the clang was a lot more prevalent than the swish.

There isn't one 5 tooler here. There seems to be a lot of pining for the old days so maybe there's some there. But let's face it. If you are on the Chicago Fanatics Message Board, you ain't exactly the most interesting man in the world.

Who was the score guy that came with Jason Goff? Matt? He ended up on North's failed venture and then disappeared. That dude could play.

One of the Chris's was really good too, had a good drive.

Really the best part of Hoops was that I ended up not being the worst player out there.
