Cubs are a paper tiger this year.

It’s appropriate that as the economy tanks the cubs increase their bum slaying

What is the Sox record vs teams over .500 this year?

They have at least one win against an over .500 team

Giolito, Keuchel and Cease are all way better. Probably would rather have Dunning starting games than Lopez tbh.

They're keeping him down because they are worried about over-exerting him.

There's a long-term pitching problem the Sox are going to face. Rodon and Kopech both busted out and Lopez is really on his last leg.

Its a godsend they hit on Giolito and if Cease can continue to come around that's a decent one-two punch. But overall I'm quite worried about it. They need Keuchel to live up to this contract big time and then Dunning or one of the farm arms has to hit. I dont think they've got the money to go buy another starter as good as Keuchel.

They have it but wont spend it unless the deal is on their terms. I mean Grandal is the biggest contract they have ever given out.

ITs not a bad situation. Burdi or Heuer or Foster or Dunning have great potential. I still think that Rodon really is the key going forward. A lot depends on his arm in terms of whether they go after a left handed starter or not. I don't care if anything happens this year, though. It is next year that really matters to me. They really do not have a quality lefty arm in their farm system that I can see. I also would make an offer to Q as a Kuechel type guy.

Rodon's cooked, Hawker. He was cooked years ago, but this was the final nail in the coffin.

I do not believe that and neither do the White Sox. Hell, they didn't give up on Burdi and he had much worse physical problems than Rodon.

I really do think this is a brutal year to be a pitcher with the ball being laughably juiced and all the corona nuttery. I'm willing to give Lopez a mulligan on this year, it a tough time to make a huge Giolito-esque bounceback.

I mean look at Kopech, such a mental weakling he wont even show up. That's way more alarming than Lopez who at least is trying.

No there’s nothing alarming about Lopez and this post is misguided. I’m not “worried” about Lopez, he’s just a thrown out lottery ticket that didn’t hit at this point. No hate for him or anything but he’s a terrible pitcher who has zero chance of ever being a good starter.

I suppose there’s a chance he reinvents himself as a great bullpen guy and that would be cool. But he’s not a starting pitcher in MLB.

Sadly, this. The only thing you can count on Rodon for is frustration. Maybe he can be an effective reliever but home plate can jump around on him so that does not seem very likely either.
