How? Parker had a massive ego. Loved to fight. And hit left handed. He was a great outfielder and player but he doesn't remind me a bit of Eloy.

Strictly at the plate. He explodes at the ball as quickly and strongly as Parker.

If you are going strictly right-handed hitters, maybe Jim Rice?

He said as a hitter Hawk.

I don’t see it. Parker was a much better hitter in terms of average. Eloy shows ridiculous power but he’ll never win a batting title- let alone two like Parker. To be clear I love Eloy, but I don’t love the comparison.

I know they've got some good arms. They don't have many success in those pitchers though in play-off success. Kershaw has been a mess in the play-offs and is not the pitcher he once was although still good. But the others are not top guys on any ones play off starters list. Their pen is good but again, I think ours is better.

Again, you have to look at the weakness of the NL and how the Dodgers have been beating up on pretty weak teams. The other thing is their manager makes shit decisions in juggling his staff in the play-offs and can't set a rotation worth a shit.

Who have the White Sox been beating up on?

Dodgers are as solid up and down as anybody and they are the odds on favorite. And rightly so. By the way, Dustin May is another spectacular arm that's made a jump.

Granted, Roberts may fuck it up. But all he has to do is get it in his head that Season Kershaw isn't Playoff Kershaw and that solves 75% of his problems.

I simply disagree with that assessment. I don't think that the Dodger rotation is excellent just a bit over average. ANd neither is their bull pen. And Roberts is shit as a manager as far as I am concerned. He cannot set a rotation for the play-offs and the Dodgers have ignored getting a shut down closer and set- up guys for the play-offs. If the Dodgers were in the AL they'd be just another good team heading for the play-offs. I'm not saying that they are bad, but they are not special considering who they play.

I really don't know what previous bullpen years have to do with this year.
Kershaw, May, Urias, and Buehler. That's super quality playoff starting staff.

Let's make this simple. The Dodgers have an +82 run differential. 40 more than anybody. They are 2nd in runs given up(can't count the Cardinals) and 1st in runs scored. Yes the NL is 4A. But Dodgers only play the West and AL West. They don't get to play the worst division in baseball, the NL Central, like the Sox get to.

Every year is different. I get that. But I look at the starting staff of the Dodgers and do not see a "super quality staff". Not whatsoever. It above average. Maybe even good. But it is not a "super quality starting staff". To me there is only one team in baseball that has that and it is Cleveland. Every one of their starters is better than anyone on the Dodgers staff. And their bull-pen is not super quality either. It certainly isn't as good as our Sox .

I think Eloy will hit for average, he's still young and very successfully swing happy still. But he and Robert exploding at the baseball makes me stop, watch and wonder.

How in the fuck was he allowed another batter? Fuck Renteria. This is not a season to teach guys or save arms. We are in first place with a month left. Fire his ass.

With all of those walks, I also had a feeling the Royals were going to put some runs up at some point.

ACtually he didn't say as a hitter which is why I challenged him on it. Also. How do you know that Eloy won't hit for average? Also, Parker was kind of a great player but for only about 8-10 years. The thing also is that I've seen something really special in Jimenez as a hitter and it is the easy swing that he has and yet the massive exit velocity on the balls put in play. Truthfully I have seen very few guys with such easy power. Maybe Griffey? Maybe Aaron? Of course, Teddy Ballgame. Their swings were different but they were easy swings and the ball just exploded off of their bats.

Some people will laugh at the Aaron comp but I won't. Aaron's power was in his hands. Eloy seems the same.

He's hitting around .325 right now. I'd say that he is hitting for average. 8) 8)

That's what I always thought also. Aaron and Ernie Banks were great hand and wrist hitters. Eloy is just bigger than they were.

I must have missed the plate only statement. I still, though remember Parker though as a different kind of hitter.
