It's just about getting the best seed that they can. Sucks we have 3 good teams in our division. And Detroit isn't as bad as we all thought.

This is the first time in my life that I knew the Sox were in at the half way point. Even in 2005 I wasn't sure even though they dominated that first half.

2005 september was a nailbiter. the win vs detroit was awesome... drunk and tired Coop on with B&B the day after - quality radio.

I agree with you Beardown. It would take a monumental collapse coupled with some currently .500 or below team playing out of their ass for them not to make the playoffs. It's a strange comfort with 26 games still to go.

The shadow that hangs over all of it though is that even if they don't lose a game for the next month, there's the possibility we wake up one morning to "breaking news" that the Sox have Cardinals or Marlins level of positives. My beaten down Sox fan syndrome tells me this would happen about 3 days before playoffs start....

They are probably in, but there is still a lot of baseball left to be played. Get the highest seed you can so you can play that opening Series as the home team in whatever Park they do the playoffs.
