Hoping to hear Stone say "Sometimes the best deals are the ones you don't make."

The best thing Hahn can do is say publicly, "We're going to roll with what we have".

I read the rumor wire and definitely Clevenger is in play with the Sox, Padres, and Braves the main guys talking about him. I would be surprised, though if Cleveland would trade him to the Sox although what the Sox would give up I think is better than what the other two could offer. Lynn and Q are in play also trade rumor wise.

So wait....are we gonna get Lynn?

Honestly, that is good news.

They're gonna hold pat which is probably the right move. A pitcher would be nice but you dont want to lose Vaughn, Dunning or Madrigal.

I want pieces, but not at the cost of shortening the window so I'm fine with the lack of movement here. Window is wide open for the next 5-6 years and shortening that by 2-3 years by trading someone like Vaughn would be awful. Just ask the Cubs what happens when you panic and pay too much for pitching on the trade market.

I wouldn't touch this team as it stands, for this year. They've won 12 of 14, don't take the chance of throwing a wrench into the gears. They believe they're world beaters. Hahn should tell them he agrees and see what happens.

I am so tired of this social media routine where these people cry out for attention like homo's and then turn around and complain about threats. Of course there are no threats, but without the redemptive victim story he just has to eat shit and he doesnt want to do that.

I will always be haunted by the Oakland A's trading Yo Cespedes for Jon Lester. Its an extreme example, but it just shows how elusive getting better can be.

This is fine with me. IT the silly season and if the right deal wasn't out there was no sense to over-pay for anyone.

Any of you know what the status of Bummer and Gio is as far as recovery. I see then as important when the play-offs start.

Pretty sure Gio's done pitching for this team unless there's an injury or Dunning totally falls apart.

Rodon probably enters the rotation at the end of the week

I agree, i'd leave it alone as well
If it was a regular season, i'd be more inclined to do something, but with this being an oddball year i wouldn't

As I said earlier, trading any of the team's top 20 players would have been a mistake. And I'd include Vaughn in that top 20. The best players I would have considered trading if I was Rick Hahn were Lopez, Mendick, Engel and Mercedes.

I'm down on Kopech but he's probably still worth a bit more than Rey Lopez, let alone these other guys.

Pretty sure you are wrong.

He had a groin strain.

He is going to be important as the tandem for starters like Lopez and Dunning when they only go 5.

That's as I see it. Same way with Rodon if he's healthy. Lefties are important in the play-offs.

In the spirit of today at CSFMB just let me say baseball is probably the only place lefties are important.

So now that the dust has really settled its pretty obvious the Sox won big by standing pat here. Its a goofy season and I'm not convinced at all that Lance Lynn makes them any better. Keep the powder dry until the off-season. I think they've got a great shot at grabbing Trevor Bauer, which would be a lot harder to do if Lance Lynn was taking up a rotation spot for 2021.

They kept Vaughn and Madrigal, which is what's really important.

Another good start by Dunning, and Lopez is going to be sweating bullets...GOOD!
