I would love me some dome.

Maybe I'll get the wife some flowers tomorrow.

Absolutely should play those months in Cuba. Robert, Abreu and Moncada? It'd be insane. Most hostile environment in pro sports for Sox opponents.

The problem with the sweetheart deal with the state is that it requires yearly investment into the stadium, which keeps it in pretty good shape. It's 30 years old and not really showing any age.

I would have loved to have a stadium like the Brewers.

I don't like Miller Park. Baseball should be played outside. And even when the roof is open Miller Park is an indoor stadium rather than a ballpark.

Now yer talkin'! My Habana Sox plan gaining converts. BigFan was the first to call my idea "not so crazy, it could work."

It would be the greatest foreign policy triumph since forever.

Team doesn't need a dome. Just schedule more double headers on Saturdays if you want to not play in the 1st week of April. Nothing better than an afternoon game and a matinee on a weekend

it would be great if they built a ballpark like they intended to build in 90. the one where it looks like the polo grounds. a unique ballpark will draw a lot of fans.

I was also thinking this about the Bears. Put a dome on soliders field. these days ppl want to be comfortable at the event. not freeze their ass off.

County Stadium was so much more enjoyable.

Current lease on the park runs through 2027 but let's get real, they will renew on it unless there is some new owner by then is willing to pony up

Most other clubs in this situation probably look at a new stadium then but with the sweetheart deal the Sox get, it almost would be foolish not to renew. They essentially get to play there for almost free and get to keep all of the revenues.

They should play a series in Havana every April. Fans would go nuts, and it would keep the pipeline open.

pipeline is already open. Any big ticket Cuban who leaves will probably have the Sox first in line to talk to. Robert came here because of Abreu. There is no quantifying the value of Abreu when that is what happened 3 years ago when the Cards offered Robert even more money.

I disagree with you, what it has meant to them and their attendance has been HUGE. It is great to know a baseball game will be played when you are driving in from 2 hours away. Also, great for team, no rain outs.

yeah, Miller Park isn't perfect but given the climate, it's the best case scenario. I agree that outdoors open air is best, but FFS....April, May, September, and October are all pretty crappy months for outdoor baseball.

If Drumpf is still POTUS it WILL happen. He will save the Cubano gummint from itself by cutting a deal to open up Cuba to Popular Voting with lifetime Luxury Skyboxes in the estadio for Top Men.

Good to see so many getting on board with Habana White Sox plan.

I get the economics/convenience of it. That reminds me of a Cardinals fan I know who once told me the Cardinals have to play on turf because they have fans that come from far and wide and they can't be disappointed by unnecessary rainouts due to soggy grass.

Miller is a perfectly nice place. I have no beef with the amenities. I just don't like indoor baseball. Baseball is the summer game. It belongs outside. The open roof is barely a compromise.

I love outdoor baseball in the summer, I don't care for it much in March/April and October/November.

I agree with the pig, Miller Park is great whether the roof is open or closed. Good site lines on on all 3 main levels, good concourses, nice looking from the outside. It's way better than the other 2 domed baseball stadiums I've been to - Toronto is ok, Arizona is kind of a dump.

The biggest drawback to Miller Park is that access to 90% of the parking is one road in, one road out....its awful after games.
That's easily solved by parking north of the highway.
