Kemper is a whole story. Maybe I'll pour a glass one night and tell that one.

And the current Kemper appeared in a Bat Man movie on top of a building in Chicago under its prior name.

Was that Scudder or Zurich Kemper or Zurich? We got sold about 5 times while I was there. Conseco and GE fell through and cost the executives a bunch of money.

And through it all, they wouldn't fire me so I could get my severance. Bought my wife's engagement ring with the settlement when they finally set me free.

Unitrin. They had bought the rights to the Kemper name and changed over to it.

It showed up in the beginning of the Dark Knight.

NOTE: The "Kemper" trade name was sold to Unitrin, Inc. on June 29, 2010. Unitrin, Inc. is not affiliated with Lumbermens. Unitrin, Inc. has now changed its name to Kemper Corporation. If you have any questions about a Kemper personal auto or homeowners' policy or claim, please contact Kemper directly at 877-252-7878 or at www.kemper.com.

Bob used to come into a club I managed in the late 90’s.

Definitely an offbeat guy.

In case this thread happens to actually rebound to actually be about Mr. Rorhman...

The voice at the end of every commercial (Bob Rooohhhhhrrman) came from a young man, who happened to be in the sales department of a suburban cable company located in Mt. Prospect, who would be forever uncredited and more important, unpaid.

My former company was acquired by Conseco and I did a stint in Carmel. Stock options looked nice until the Greentree Financial deal!

Yeah I recall all that land on 59 which took forever to develop. There was even that huge track east of 59 along 88 which became that big retail development that stayed open for a long time.

I still find Randall Rd amazing. I recall it just being a two lane rd akin to much of 47. Now there is just rinse repeat retail from Aurora to Crystal Lake.

The Randall rd. Thing still gets me when I come home. Was almost nothing on the west side of road until when the hospital was built around 90 or whenever that was. Development on 25 south of Elgin too. The farming that goes on in the burbs is interesting (to me at least) in that the land owners pay the farmers to do it so it stays zoned agricultural to keep taxes down. I hate driving equipment on the more major roads around here, can’t imagine doing it 59 or Randall.

The area has changed. My mom talks about growing up in Oaklawn and having a dairy across the street where here Dad would grab milk from the owners. Would of been the 40’s or early 50’s.

It wasn't more than 100 years ago that they had small farms in St. Denis parish (83rd and Kedzie).

the name lives on.... his kids got into a little bad PR situation with a purdue game promo

https://https://www.purdueexponent.org/sports/article_dc84b53a-6fe9-11ef-8a78-374717c57b69.html

the insurance company did a frame by frame breakdown to try and screw the kid out of the prize.

so stupid.

I've bought 2 odysseys from rohrman honda on golf rd. I appreciated that in both instances once i said i was writing a check they didn't continue to try and get me to finance. unlike a few of the others we shopped at.
