I just found this place, and I was liking how it seemed like a lot of people had a lot of different views.

I'm not used to anything but one sided politically correct talk at all the other boards I know.

The reason for this board has long passed. Sports radio is dead. Old enough to remember when the Score was a must listen. It hasn't been that way for at least 10 years. This place has been running on fumes for 5 or 6 years.

While I am definitely an outsider on this board, I have been around enough to make some observations. The attempt to separate politics to a specific forum so it doesn't come up in "Active Topics" has been a miserable failure. Every Covid topic, school topic, and Douchebag/Shoutout post that has a right/left view should be placed in the Politics forum so people that don't want to see political issues can avoid them. All these topics that permeate the board help create all the negative energy and hatred that is so apparent on this board. This board has always had a ruthless, asshole vibe which I recognized instantly and somewhat enjoyed when I first came here but it has gotten so much worse. As someone on the left who has grown to despise loudmouth, Trump-supporting conservatives, it is hard to be pleasant when you see all the threads from posters such as Caller Bob and Antartica. I rarely open them but just the title alone creates some hostility that I'm sure I bring into the threads I do open and post in. And I'm sure the threads from the left have a similar effect to those on the right. Maybe I am in the minority of members who don't want to see anything political on this forum. I come here to read about sports talk radio, sports, and the occasional discussion about pop culture and living in the Chicagoland area NOT for left/right opinions and bullshit trolling that is impossible to ignore.
