i saw that if the season ended today cubs would be playing the phillies first round.

I'd take that.

29 will be all that is needed for the 8 seed. Of course then you get to play the Dodgers in LA, congratulations.

Cubs and Cardinals are pretty much a lock to be 1-2 or 2-1 in the Central. One gets the 3 seed and hosts the Phillies or Mets, the other gets the 5 and has to go to San Diego which might be deadly for the Cub offense.

I'm not sure the 2 seed is an advantage. You get to host the 7 seed, which could be the Rockies. And then after that you still play the 3-6 winner at a neutral site where your only advantage is to bat last in a game 7.

I'd rather face Harper and Realmuto than Arenado, Story, and Blackman.
