Cut away from their final round coverage of the Tour Championship at around 12:20 PM to run an episode of Feherty. Coverage on GC was slated to run until 12:30PM Central then switch over to NBC who would begin their broadcast at the same time.

And did NBC, which owns Golf Channel, anticipate the early switch and cut away from Chicago TODAY a little early on their main channel for seamless coverage? Nope. NBC is handling the broadcast of the ultimate PGA Tour event of the "season" on two of its owned networks and cannot present even a nearly-uninterrupted broadcast.

he missed 10 minutes of watching the bottom half of the leaderboard (the guys who finished 10 shots behind the leader) play golf. those guys dont even want to be there.

Not surprising, but this is poor logic that has nothing to do with the point of my OP. Which, for reference, was: NBC should be able to present seamless coverage of one of the larger PGA Tour events when said coverage is to be shown entirely on networks they own.

scorching hot taek there, thanks for helping me understand your OP on your terms, because before i wouldnt have thought it was a big deal to fuck up the transition of television coverage from one network to another.
