He's fine there for the most part. The issue is you have a roster spot for a guy to pinch run and play defense. In a tight game against your biggest rival with the division on the line, why is Eloy out there?

Ricky fucked up but lucked out. He left Eloy in the game thinking that if the Twins tie it Eloy would have led of the 9th. He didnt have faith in his bullpen or Dyson to bat and could have lost the game with a bad decision. Just put the defensive replacement in and say lets end it right here.

What has Mazara done for Ricky that he should be automatically penciled into the lineup every night? It's not an optimal situation but I would go with Engle in at least a platoon.

Mazara has had his chance. He will be non tendered at the end of the year so its not like they should even be projecting him into the future.

Are they really gonna non tender Mazara? I mean they should but after trading a decent prospect for him they won't give up on him after just this 60 game season.

When your closer has been great all year, you play to end it there.

That trade looks pretty awful right now. I think they would have dumped Mazara if we hadn't given them something.

How can you not? Someone at soxtalk estimated he will be making 6 million next year after arbitration. It's kind of like Yolmer last year.

I'd prefer going the FA market route, but Sox will probably see Mazara as cheaper than a FA and stick with him 1 more year.

CF Steele Walker hasn't even played at all this year per baseball reference - anybody know why? Is he hurt?

He's a player who would be in AAA this year but there are no minor leagues. Not a lot of guys from the 2018 draft class are in the majors yet. Madrigal is the exception there.

The change of scenery doesn't appear to be the answer for Mazara. They gave up a decent prospect, but who knows how that will play out. He's not a long-term solution. They're going to have to figure out RF in free agency.

Absolutely perfect fucking line-up tonight.

Not a single easy out there

That's exciting. I am done with EE and Mazara.

McCann catching and Grandal DH. This is the best lineup they have possible.

only change I'd make is I DH Abreu and have Grandal at 1B in case McCann gets injured so you don't lose your DH for the game.

Grandal had a few fuck-ups at first. But I agree that's the way to go.

He should have been gone. Sure, you miss his bat in the 9th and extra innings, but he could have easily cost you the game there.

Even worse, he could have injured himself trying to make a moderately difficult catch in the biggest game he's played in at the MLB level so far. Bad move by Ricky.

I also agree. I just want McCann catching.

This is the lineup for 60% of the schedule if McCann re-signs

Yeah I know, it ain't happening.

Robert really needs to learn how to slide, unless that was a fuckup. He's lucky there was no throw

If only to keep the dugout from erupting in laughter.

Going dirt diving ten feet from the bag is bizarre.
