This would not be the first time the Sox clinched on September 17th. It was on this date in 1983 that Harold Baines hit Julio Cruz home via sac fly to clinch.

They are already setting up for the playoffs. Apparently Keuchel was ready to go today but they held him out to reshuffle the rotation to line-up with the 1st playoff series.
