No one sounds as miserable doing radio as Rosenbloom, which is no small feat considering the station he's employed by. Any time I come across his show on the weekend he's insulting someone or something, which is in stark contrast to Mark Grote who is one of the few hosts in Chicago that appears to genuinely love sports and his job. The guy just has a negative air about him which I can't imagine too many find enjoyable.

Mark Grote is the man. He seems like a genuine good guy who likes sports. Too bad he's surrounded by miserable people who discourage fun.

Rosenbloom has been Stevie Sunshine since he worked with the legendary Dave Baum 20 years ago. That's his thing, to tie into meatball angst and stoners simultaneously. Grote is the balance, a pleasant guy who can be critical without being mean and can break up too much seriousness with humor.

Neither should have a 15 hour a week gig, but I'd like to see Grote get a day a week cohosting with either Bernstein or Perkins.
