The occasional HR aside, why is encarnacion still in the lineup? He’s somehow getting worse as the season goes on.

The same reason Cordero continues to be used out of the pen in high-leverage situations.

Dumb me wants them to just throw Crochet into the closer spot. I have no faith in Cordero no matter what stats say.

I wouldn’t hate foster in the closer role but crochet seems like a whole different thing from the eye test.

Problem is that Colome, not Cordero, is the closer

And I'm yet to be convinced the control is there yet. Need a bigger body of work.

I'm shaky about Colome, but I can't go to a kid with 10 days of experience. Yet.

Colome has been great this year.

He has and to Reader’s post, a small ask for a bit of grace on the typo would be appreciated.

I just don’t love his stuff. I like the prototypical closer, where you know what’s coming but you still can’t hit it. I just don’t view Colome as that guy.

He's effective. He closes until he proves to not be effective.

He manages to get the 3 outs that is required. That doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement, but it is.

Colome is a good closer. The only blown save he even had this year was the result of defensive errors in the field on easy ground balls and even then Colome picked up the W that game.

Wait, are people seriously saying to change from a guy who has converted 42-46 save opportunities over the last two years to a rookie with one major league inning seven games before the playoffs begin?

I knew legalizing weed would fuck up society

People who think closing is easy. After all, it's just 3 outs like any other 3 outs, right?

Oh I’m well aware how stupid it’d be.

I’m just tapping into some ‘05 Jenks nostalgia.
