First time Marlins are in post season since 2003. Better than facing the Reds or Cardinals. I think.

Ruh Roh.

Don't like this matchup.

It's probably 1 and done anyway. Time for Bears focus.

Don’t like them playing anyone really . Can’t have the middle of your lineup hitting .210, .201, and .1 fucking90. It’s an embarrassment to the quality of the competition they faced that they were able to win a division with this utter crap in the lineup .

Maybe playing the Sox this weekend have turned the bats around. Or maybe they score one run over two games. Could be either.

This. Playing the Reds (the 7 seed) would have been much worse.

Their only hope is that the NL Central goes nuts and win all four first round series.

Nonsense. Much better than facing Bauer in a game one. Go focus on the Bears they're going nowhere fast.

Why? The Cubs are going to have a demonstrable SP advantage in the first two games.

The Cubs are probably the hardest draw in the first round when you're facing Darvish and Hendricks back to back. The only team with a comparably formidable 1-2 is probably Cincy with Bauer/Castillo.

The Reds get more dangerous when the series start to extend, Gray would be better than any other team is running out there at #3.

Uhrena broke his arm today, hit by a DJLM liner. So that's their Game 3 starter gone.

Darvish and Hendricks do their thing, there isn't a game three.

Series numbers are out.
Atlanta -125.
Cubs -190.
Only Dodgers at -300 are bigger favorites than Cubs.

Cubs offense is why I'm not optimistic.

Oakland at -135. Whitesox at +110. Its early but Indians are interesting at +110. Bieber could beat Cole in game one. Then yanks face a tough starter in games two and three.

That is a large price on the Cubs. Especially with their lack of hitting until Friday,

That's the difference between not having to face Bauer. Cubs would be around -120 if they were playing the Reds.

Yeah I haven't watched 30 seconds of Marlins baseball this year. No idea how they actually are.

Am also concerned about the flagging offense. Would like to think they can eek out enough runs if Darvish and Hendriks do their things.

The cool for the season weather should help the pitchers during their series.

Only franchise that has never lost a post-season series.

That ends this year. :P

I like their chances to advance. Congratulations to Miami for qualifying for this expanded playoff field. But I believe the Cubs prevail and go on to face Atlanta in the NLDS. ESPECIALLY like seeing KB thumping in the past couple games. They know this is probably their last run as a unit, so I don't think they will come out flat.

Heyward had his best season (for his low bar) as a Cub. Though, be it in a shortened covid-19 one. He flamedout again the end of this year (1 for last 19 ab). Hmm? Just like the end of 2019 when he was needed ( 3 for last 27 ab). As a Cub postseason (7 for 68, .103 ba 1 RBI!)

Again this year he's been propped as a team leader. Praised vigorously by media for any success he has. Now a sjw hero thrown into the mix. Regular season with the Cubs he's 253 332 388 721 90 even after some highpoints this year.

Can he salvage his Cubs legacy this postseason? Or will he fail like his Cubs past when the money is on the line?
