An update:

Sunday, August 10

Hey Folks,

Well we're off and running on what I think is going to be a fun experience. I've always loved the art of handicapping sports and it's always been a goal of mine to create a site that would not only give people winners, but also make it affordable to the regular guy and hopefully be entertaining as well. Jen and Fred are with me for this project as well as a lot of hardworking technical people who have worked hard to make this site viewable and pleasing to the eyes. Hub Arkush will be one of our football experts and we will bring more experts in for other sports. Oh, I almost forgot- the name of the site is http://www.Dontfademe.com which will debut at 4:00 on Monday. I'm proud to be the spokesman and endorser. This is the first of three or four projects we will announce in the coming weeks. Also want to thank Sam the Man and Spaceball for helping me put this site together. Also our main guy Mr Skin. Oh yeah - Nudity and handicapping. You can't beat it. Good Luck.

Mike

mr i don't read the chatboards or mess with computers is now gonna be a webhost. what the hell do fred and jen have to do with this ? the move to vegas should be coming real soon with nort begging his so-called casino buddies for a gig.

Jen to make sanwiches and Fred to agree with Mike's picks I assume.

I am not a gambler, but Pappy wants you to make bets with him, if you lose, he gets the money? Either way, this doesnt sound like a great idea Mikes part.

If it's the same technical people than helped him put together his website, I feel bad for him already.

He doesn't need Jen's help on this. Pappy feels bad for her. He got her all riled up thinking he'd land something. He hasn't and he won't.

This is Pappy's way of throwing Jen some money without making her feel guilty about taking it. That's what I think it is.

She can keep her diginity. It's not a hand out if Pappy makes Jen feel she worked for the money.

Honestly, this is as pathetic as it gets. I cant wait to see this site. I think Pappy thinks this is his road to his own Handicap gig on tv. Jen can be the little blonde to introduce him and Fred can be the other guy sitting at the table eating hot wings.

I think Pappy might want to put a for sale sign in front of his house if this is what he is depending on and to re-start his "I am out for the regular guy" is just a crock of shit, he wants thier money, otherwise, he doesnt need ya.

Pappy wear was bad enough but any moron that would pay Mike Fucking North to make their picks with their hard earned cash might be the "jag bag" of all fucking time. I bet Coast eats him alive. Coast would give them up for free! Do these "pickers" shpw their records and do they tell the truth?

Coast care to challenge North?????

and one more thing- Has anyone EVER seen one of these crooks from these point spread shows or sites ever make it anywhere else?

I think this is the area (hanidcapping media) where North should have stayed. Establishment of the Score and his subsequent success got in the way of his handicapping media career. He's back doing what he did to supplement his hot dog stand income.

His biggest challenge, aside from building a paying audience that is of substance, is to figure out how to navigate business models associated with a medium (internet) and content. I imagine that he is not going to reinvent the wheel and come up with anything groundbreaking. It may be either:

(a) free picks on the web and revenue from advertisers, or

(b) picks for pay system on intenet, 1-900, periodic e-mail, etc.

I'm curious if Coast has any thoughts as an industry insider on this new venture.

Oh, my god. Have you guys looked at the website? It's up now. I don't know whether it's pathetic or hilarious. The bios of the "experts" alone are priceless. I did note that it said Fred has given up his daytime duties at the Score to follow this passion of his. Is Fred quitting? I just heard him do an update. And Hub, shame on you, to even allow your name to be used on a POS like this.

Wow. You think North has hit rock bottom and then he proves you wrong again and again.

Norths experts are.

Pappy
Hub
Fred
Bookie Priest and......................

JEN! Her Bio:

Quote:
Yes, she's gorgeous, but don't dismiss Jen Patterson as that beautiful blonde who smiled and winked her way to the top.
Quote:
In fact, nearly any guy who has gone toe to toe with her has come out of that conversation shaking his head, amazed that they met a woman who knew more about sports than they did.

"I remember not only was she a lot of fun to talk to, this girl knew her stuff when it came to sports," says North who discovered Jen in Chicago back in 2002. "The girl's got some spunk when it comes to sports."

With a resume that includes integral positions on such high profile stations with major league colleagues such as Fox Sports, Comcast SportsNet, WSCR-AM (The Score), Doug Buffone, Joe Buck and Tim McCarver, Jen has proven quickly and repeatedly to the best in the business that when it comes to sports - she's knows her stuff.
Jen's star continued to rise in 2006 when The Score sent her to Italy to cover the 2006 Olympics. Soon after, when Mike was asked to helm The Score's coveted morning show slot, he asked Jen to join his all-star team as Associate Producer. Before long Jen was promoted to Executive Producer as well as being featured as an on-air personality.

Her tenure on the show and at the station lasted 4 years, ending when Mike chose to leave the station and she chose to follow the Mike as he struck out on his own.

I am pretty sure she went to the olympics on her own, not for the score. Looking at this website, yes, its ok as far as compared to his northtonorth, but the endless line of bullshit makes it weird.

Mikes Blog from that site.

Hey, it's Mike North. A lot of you know me from my 16+ years in Chicago sports radio, but for those of you who are new: thanks for stopping by.

I just want to take a second to give you a quick idea of what DontFadeMe.com is all about. This is NOT your average handicapping site. It has been my dream for a long time to create a simple, straight forward, honest site that is all about results. You won't find the overblown hype, inflated egos and inaccurate reporting that is typical of many competing sites. We're going to cover Football, Basketball, Baseball, Hockey and other major sports events as well. Most importantly-we pick winners!

There are a few things that I can guarantee, and the main one is: this is me! This is not some guy pretending to be me. This is not just me sending info to a couple of computer guys. This is 100% me.

I am proud to be the spokesperson and endorser of this highly professional and easy to use site!

Head on over to the Code of Conduct page and you'll see exactly what I envision for this site.

Mike North

Mike North's Handicapping Code of Conduct
Mike's Golden Rules of sports handicapping

I pick the sides of games for my higher plays.

Over/under lines are normally lesser plays except in special circumstances.

Football and basketball are the key sports for success in gambling . . . but you can also make big money in baseball.

No gimmick plays! You won't win on them in the long run.

I will never chase! Discipline is the key to long term success.

It is the quality of the plays, not the quantity. I never pick games I don't like just to provide you with more picks.

Like the stock market, there will be ups and downs, but month to month I will be up.

Wow. Ok. Failure.

I thought maybe long time handicapers were doing the picks and Pappy was just promoting the site.

Guys who gamble aren't stupid. It's their money at stake. They are not gonna pay for "Pappy picks". I guarentee you that.

Shit, they would just pick the games on their own. Pappy is no smarter then the average nickel and dime bettor. Hell, a lot of your nickel and dime bettors are smarter than Pappy when it comes to handicapping.

Like giving a hot dog salesman a radio show?

Exactly! And like giving a Gibson's waitress an executive producer role, like giving some witch from WGN a role as a sidekick and political talker . . .

Mike forgot to include a picture and bio of this member of his staff of experts (The fact that the monkey's name also describes Jen is purely coincidental):

Image
Bimbo, a capuchin monkey, will pick the winner of every NFL game this season for The Examiner.
Here, the 35-year-old who lives at Frisky’s Wildlife and Primate Sanctuary in Woodstock,
picks Denver to defeat Buffalo.

See, this is intelligence, except you're forgetting something Beardown.

The 30% of the fanbase that still believes Mike is a god, and will drop their hard earned cash on "sure things" that Northy will throw out there.

That being said, there is no way Mike will make money on this.

It's hilarious to watch a man implode like this.

Yeah, but that 30% doesn't have the disposable income to drop on somebody's "Picks". No matter how cheap it is.

They probably shouldn't gamble either. But if they do they are just gonna make their own damn picks.

Of course this "Pappy Operation" will fail. It just will.

Gamblers with money are smart enough to know Pappy doesn't know more than them.

Gamblers with little money just make the picks on their own.

That's the way it works. People do buy services but there are much more reputable people out there to buy from. That's the point. If you are a gambler you would know about the reputable people. Nobody is gonna buy this Pappy shit.

You don't just wake up one day and say "Here is my picks. Hundred dollars a month." That is a joke. Nobody falls for that.

Lets see.....

100 from Fred

100 from Jen ( Jen is now in the hole working for Mike)

100 from Hub

100 from Bebe

This is maybe a 6-10 month venture, surprised he didnt suck Buffone into this.
