Telling my QB he cant come to practice this week because throwing a football will impact his arm for a tournament this weekend.  .

One of my son's coaches tested positive for Covid last week, effextively ending the team's season. My wife and son got their results back this morning. Theyre clear at least.

Honestly. It's great way to avoid doing volunteer work though, or to avoid being exposed to GoldenJet's wit and political opinions.

Nomination rejected. Travel team should take priority over all other sports. If not, you shouldn't be playing travel. It's a full commitment.

I have dealt with very few Travel Baseball, 7on7 and Volleyball coaches who were not on a power trip with these kids. I had a girl years back who would miss a half dozen track meets every year for club volleyball. Which was fine because volleyball was her favorite sport and what she played in college. Her Senior year she qualifies for state in track. The AAU coach gives her an ultimatum that if she attends the state track meet and misses some club league game she is off the team and can not go to nationals. She chose the track meet.

How old of a kid are we talking about? But it doesn't matter, the guy or gal is a tool.

Reminds of the coaches back in my day, you can't go swimming on game day!!!!!!!!!

Hmm. Maybe not pitching a kid from April through November would do better for arm help. It is not the same motion. The 3 coaches on staff who played QB and pitched in high school could tell you that.

That's total BS because throwing a football is one of the best drills for achieving good form throwing a baseball. Prevents the elbow from dipping.

Having gone through it over the summer and now this fall, a positive test is my biggest fear. I'm not worried about the players actually getting sick, it's the headaches that a random positive test would cause everyone.

One of our players was in school on a Tuesday. She practiced with us on Wed, and played a double header Sunday. Sunday night her dad receives an email from the school that she was "potentially exposed" by a positive student on tuesday. So she was 5 days into her "quarantine" period without knowing she was supposed to be doing it.... She had no symptoms, but her dad got her tested to make sure she wasn't spreading it. Test was negative. Had it been positive, the contact tracing/quarantine could have started with the entire team.

don't feed the troll, but here I go anyway....

Not about the games, it's about everything being postponed over a "friend of a friend" maybe testing positive. Yes, softball would be postponed, so would kids going to school, and parents going to work, and.....

Poor you, your precious softball games might be postponed, what a tragedy. Thank God you got to play.

All fun should be cancelled until Deacon feels safe. One case is too many, this dangerous plague must be contained, so many cases and bodies everywhere. Wake up, man.

Sadly, Deacon has a lot of company. MANY have bought into this nonsense and just won't let it go.

That is called contact tracing and is what stops the transmission. You should celebrate that she tested negative. The system worked. Your comment that you didn’t care if the kids got sick was stupid.
How effective can a system be if it takes 5 days to let somebody know they might have fun in contact with somebody that has the virus?

If so, it’s almost perfect satire.

(Tom House enters the thread....and disagrees.)

Your QB has reached the point where it sounds like he and his family have to make a choice. I assume the kid also pitches for the HS team, what does that coach say?

But from outside looking in, he has to decide between pitching in actual games for a tournament, and practicing for football games that aren't happening right now? Seems like an easy choice.
